Kason-David`s birthstory

Ok ladies here goes! I went into L & D at 10:30 am to be induced, at that time I was 2cm and about 60% (depending on who checked me, lol). They hooked me all up and got my pitocin started. I was contracting regularly every 4 minutes about an hour into the pitocin. No pain yet though, just tightening. At 3:00 pm my doc came in and broke my water. It was kind of funny too because she said I had a bag of steel, hahaha! She was finally able to get a small tear and it broke on it`s own about 10 mintues later. Now this is where it all gets interesting. Right away the back labor started, nothing intolerable, just...uncomfortable (while all this was going on they were upping my pit every 20 minutes or so). At one point I was contracting every minute and a half and it HURT. I wasn`t getting any relief in between the contactions because of the back labor so I told my nurse and she called the Epi man. During my labor with my son I had a HORRIBLE experience with the epi so I was a little nervous. However, this one went off without a hitch. From start to finish the procedure took about 10 minutes and I had instant relief...*ahhhhh*. But of course I can`t do anything without having some sort of complication! I`ve had pretty low blood pressure with this pregnancy (110/80) and I guess epi`s drop your blood pressure too. Well, everytime the nurse would come in to check me she had to lay me flat on back and EVERY time I friggin` puked! My pressure was dropping to 90/50 (BTW Kason was fine while all this was happening). At around midnight I could tell that he was descending because I was getting pain in my vaj and pelvis, nurse came in and I was 6cm and 80% (I dialated REALLY slow). The epi wasn`t relieving my pain anymore so I knew I was on my own (ouchy!). At 3:00am I started feeling that urge to push so they called my doc and she checked me. I still had a tiny bit of cervix left but she let me push through it. And there it begins! I started pushing at 3:00 am, by 3:45 I was asking my doc, `What the hell is going on?` He just wasn`t coming down. I pushed and pushed and pushed and friggin` pushed some more, no dice. Finally at 4:30 am he started to crown and I thought I was dying...HA! She told me that he was looking to be a little big and that I had my work cut out for me (she wasn`t lying, oh and the whole time I was pushing I was still throwing up, yup I puked 5 times in the course of pushing for two hours). They put me on O2 between pushes and it made me so damn thirsty! But I couldn`t eat ice chips because I puked them up. Seriously, who throws up ice?!?! Anywho, he FINALLY popped his little head out and I thought I was out of the woods, but this kid has the shoulders the size of a NFL linebacker. When I pushed his shoulders out I felt like I was being ripped in half (which I did, lol. I had a second degree tear). They popped him on the scale and he weighed 9 lbs even. Now my last son was 4 lbs....yeah TOTAL different experience!

My doc and talked as she was sewing me up and she said she didn`t think I was going to be able to do it (that made me pretty damn proud!). She said his shoulders were wider than my pelvis, but somehow I MADE him come out.

My vaj looks AWFUL and I can`t sit down and the thought of pooping makes me wanna throw up, but other than that it was a wonderful experience....

He had some bruising on his head and face and popped some blood vessels in his eyes because of the squeeze he had to make, but now he is a totally happy and healthy bouncing baby boy!
