Kori Mae`s birthstory
So I went in with contractions Tuesday night (the 27th) I went in to be monitered, because they told me to come in for an hour and I'd go. My doc decided to keep me overnight. I have a REAL problem getting IVs. They can't seem to get my veins, and the ones they get, they blow. It's VERY painful. Early Wed. my doc told the nurses to let me go, but they didn't want to because I was bleeding. A different doc took over at 7 and he also wanted me to go home but told me I was more than welcome to stay and see if I dilate by the time he was done with his other delivery. I decided to stay because I refused to leave without a baby after all the needle problems AGAIN. When he came back I had changed from a 4 to a 5, so he said he would break my water and see what happens. He broke my water, started me on pitocine and everything took off. He broke my water at about 4 and had Kori Mae at 6:58. They checked me at about 6 and I was an 8. I was talking to my father in law at 6:50 and told him we would have a baby within the hour. I went on to correct myself and say well not within the hour because there's only 10 min. left in the hour, but we should have her within AN hour. Doc came in while I was on the phone with my father in law to check me and told me let's do this. I had one practice push, which is supposed to be a 10 count but he made me stop on 2. He barely had time to break down the bed and get dressed. He threw the bottom part of the bed across the room. I pushed one more time and her head was out. Then 1 more time and she shot out at the doc like a bullet. He litterally had to catch her! lol My husband got shot with water, and he was standing by my side holding my leg! It was quick and easy!!! The doctor said it was good he induced because there were blood clots in my placenta where the umbilical cord attatched and had I gone into full blown labor on my own it could have been fatal. He said he just had a feeling he needed to get this done and over with and he was glad he followed his gut. We are both doing really well, other than her jaundice, which she is being treated for. I have been up and around since that night. We left 24 hours later. All is well!
