Ethan-Frederick-James`s birthstory

We had in at home with a midwife, student big sister, daddy and grandparents present. I was the most wonderful experience of my life.

I thought something was up the day before when I got really tired and slept for 5hrs during the day. I woke and had sooo much energy that I could not sleep. I started feeling `weird` around 1AM and my water broke around 3am I was not sure if it was the real thing, so I had a bath to see if the contractions would subside. They didn`t but I was still in denial because my due date was also 2days away still. I puttered around the house cleaning up and finally they started getting stronger around 5AM, I called everyone including the midwife around 630AM. She really did not believe that I was in active labour yet, so just told me to keep doing what I was doing. I different midwife came by ( mine got called to the hospital) came by around 9AM. She checked and sure enough water was broken and I was 4cm dilated, babe was also facing up so i could not really sit down if I wanted to turn him around. I had really bad back labour so to sit back really was not an option. I ended up having a hot shower until the water turned cold, then I got sick and ended up sitting on the toilet labouring cause it felt so much better, and I was having loose BMs so this was to me the perfect place. The midwife ended up wanting to check me because I was making pushing noises( whatever those sound like!LOL ) I barely made it down the hall to the living room where on all fours she checked me. I was fully effaced but still had a bit of a lip left. This scared me as I remembered ready that this could take hours to get rid of and I NEEDED to push! I ended up screaming and panting in Scott`s ear, the whole time actually FEELING my body push my babe out. I must say looking back it was the most amazing experience to think that MY body could do it all on its own. I started to feel burning and let the Midwife know, she looked and was quite shocked to see the babes head. I pushed x2 and out came my little Ethan! Anastasia was kind of scared, more of me screaming, but she talks about it now and thinks it is the coolest thing ever!
