Anthony-Nathan`s birthstory

My little football player came hard and fast as I had him less than 24 hours after I lost my mucus plug.

At 1:00AM that night (morning) I was laying on my left side reading a book and I felt a sharp type of punch that hurt so bad I jumped. 5 seconds later, there was something warm in between my legs and I thought maybe I had peed a little on myself so better get up and go to the bathroom. As soon as I sat up, I gushed all over my sheets on the bed.

My boy broke my water with one swift punch! It is so true: THEY let you know when they want out and no time sooner!

So contractions truly started about 15 minutes after. Not too bad but not feeling very good either. I thought to myself that I should go to sleep and that will kill some time before anything really starts to happen. So, I fell asleep.

I was awoken an hour later to a pain so indescribable that I couldn`t sit up or breathe. This contraction was crazy! I `hee hee hoo hoo`ed` it out and then sat up and gushed some more. The contractions came fast and hard, right off the bat. There was no build up for me.

At 4:00am I couldn`t stand it anymore so I was taken to the hospital. After getting set up on the baby monitor...they checked my cervix and I had dialted only 1cm and I was 90% effaced. Believe it or not - my Son STILL HAD NOT DROPPED!!!!

I was given the option of waiting it out for him to `possibly drop` or get a c-section. My contractions were pretty bad and I knew I wouldn`t be able to take any more waiting for my baby to `maybe` drop.

So, they lovingly prepped me for a c-section. The spinal block was a killer and I still have a massive bruise on my lower back/spine from it. Oh God did it hurt. The staff were all excellent and so professional, sensitive yet firm with me regarding my emotions and they got me under control.

My babys Daddy got into scrubs and after I was set and laying on the table, they brought him in and he sat next to me and held my hand, rubbed my arm and saw his Son being born.

He was the first to hold our Son and love up on him while I got sewn and stapled up. Then he brought my baby over to me. It was such a wonderful experience to see the man that I love holding and kissing the baby that we had created.

I dont remember everything after that as I have some fuzzy memories but I do remember hearing my baby screaming when they took him out and that was the most wonderful sound in the world.

I spent 4 days in the hospital. I am home now and loving my Son so very much that my heart is overwhelmed with something that I cannot even explain.

My sweet loving baby - Anthony Nathan makes my heart skip a beat and I will love him for infinity.
