Karleigh-Rae-Hope`s birthstory
2/17 - It was a LONG day at home waiting to go to the hospital....We were scheduled to be at the hospital at 7pm this evening, the hospital called me at 5pm, and said they had no available beds yet, and to call back at 8pm. I called back at 8pm, and they said they still had no beds yet, and to call back at 9:15. I called back at 9:15 and was sure they were going to say no beds still and that we would need to reschedule our induction, but the lady said we have a bed for you and to come on in! We arrived at the hospital at 10pm after getting a few last minute things together. Walking into the hospital I was a bucket full of nerves....anxious, scared, happy, you name it I had the feelings. They got me all hooked up to the machines, and ready to roll.
2/18 - About 12 am the doctor came in and checked me, and I was 2cm dialated as I was the Tuesday before, she did an U/S, because she wasnt sure if what she was feeling was the babies head....well it was but my amniotic fluid had dropped again to 6. At 1am she decided to start the pitocin based on that and the fluid levels. The nurse came in every hour and upped the drip, at 6:30am the doctor came back in and checked me, I was 4cm dialated, so he broke my water. My GOAL for this pregnancy was to go all natural with no pain meds....however at 8:00am MY doctor came in to check me and I was 6cm dialated, I was making it through my contractions the best I knew how, but obviously as the pit drip was increased, they steadily made me feel more and more naseaous, to where I was unable to keep still, focused, etc. So I decided to go ahead for the epidural about 9:30am...It really bummed me out to have to do this. :( (Active Labor started at 5cm, so at 8:00 I was considered to be in active labor) The lady who administered my epi arrived, stuck me, and things slowly started to get better, then all of a sudden, the epi wore off on my right side! (The same thing happened when I gave birth to my first daughter.) My doctor arrived back and checked me again about 11:30am, I was 7cm, and she said baby girl will be here sometime between 2 and 3pm (her guess)...haha!!! Well I really started to feel the contractions on my right side, even with hitting my epi button every 10 min, I told my mom they were getting stronger and I had a really bad pain, I asked at 12:00 to see my doctor again to be checked, because like my last labor I went from 0 to 60 and ready to push in less than an hour...the nurse came in and checked me around 12:15, and said well that is why you are having all the pain you are feeling, I had just a little piece hanging over my cervix, she scrapped it off, said alright we are a full 10 and ready to push!! Doc walked in at 12:30, and I started pushing! 15 minutes later, My Beautiful Baby Girl, was placed in my shirt against MY chest crying, and right away she stopped crying! It was the most amazing feeling in the world...Words can and never will be able to describe how I felt....I was in total shock! We had created and I had birthed this miracle!
It was an amazing feeling, starting into her eyes, and nursing her for the first time. It made me realize that all the HOPE I had, the FAITH, had really worked.
I did end up with an episiotamy (ouch), and stiches in places I never imagined, but it was oh so worth it!!!
XOXOXO

Here goes! :)
5/15 - Induction scheduled for this evening....Called the hospital at 6, bed was ready and was allll mine :) Arrived at the hospital at 8pm got all situated and started pitocin at 10:15pm. They put me at 1.5 on the drip, was 3-4 cm dialated and of we go!
5/16- At 1:30am, the nurse and doc came in to check me, after being on the pit drip for 3 hours I was still 3-4 cm dialated, but was having a TON of contractions, they sad my uterus was being overactive too much activity and didnt want it to wear itself out, so they lowered the pitocin to 1. (I think they were really waiting for my doc to get there and she didnt come on until 7am, which was fine with me!) 4am, doc checked me again was still 3-4 cm dialted so the increased the pitocin again. 7:30am was checked, 5cm (Active Labor Finially!). My doc finially arrived and broke my water at 10:40am, I was still 5cm dialated, and was in alot of pain, I wanted to go all natural but just couldnt do it....The doctor who was giving me my epi arrived very quickly thankfully, and started, well this didnt go as smoothly as it should, she stuck the needle in to start it, and as she was inserting the tube for the meds I felt a sharp sharp pain and a ton of pressure on my left side which she said was not normal, the tube had curved to the left somehow and was putting me in pain, so she had to remove it and do it again.. this hurt :( ....At 12:20pm I was 7cm dialted and my doctor said that she would be here within a few hours to get comfy and take a nap, she wasnt in a rush to pop out. After my doc left the room, I assume my blood pressure or oxygen levels went haywire cause they put me on oxygen and had me lay on my side. (Usually my epi doesnt take to my right side, well lets just say that this time it didnt take to my left at all and my right was barely numb. I couldnt feel my left leg at all, but could feel the pain everywhere else, even with hitting the button as needed.) I started to feel A LOT of pain on my left side and told the nurse that I could feel everything that was happening and I felt like I had something hanging out of me, so she called the doctor up, who was eating lunch with my parents, but not with my parents, lol, in the cafeteria, she came up checked me (12:50pm) and said oh wow, thats her head you are ready to push! Needless to say my mom, mother in law or sister in law almost didnt make it in time, the doc didnt have time to set anything up (cause it was gonna be a while...), barely time to get dressed, another nurse was scurrying around trying to set up for her, I pushed 3 times, and in 6 min total at 12:56pm Kierstyn Marie Elise was born!!
It was amazing!! I am so blessed to have this little girl join our family, she is such a miracle, and a delight! Nothing is better than being a mommy!!
Not a rip or a cut amazingly this time!! :)
