Kaylee`s birthstory
I went into the hospital about 8 am. The doc was supposed to meet me there to break my water to see if labor would start on it`s own but they said they didn`t have the results of my strep B test so he wanted me to have two rounds of antibotics before he broke my water. I was mad. I wanted to get things going. I didn`t want to have to wait until noon to have my water broke. I was hoping to have her before noon. So I get the IV and they get the antibotics going and give me a low dose of pitocin. I was having some contractions but nothing I could really feel or that bothered me. So I finish the first round of anitbotics and have been walking the halls for about 30 minutes. Then the nurse wants me to get back on the moniters again to check baby and see how contractions are going because I still don`t really feel them. So baby is doing good and you can see the contractions register but don`t feel them. So they raised the dose on the pitocin. It`s now eleven am. I get up to walk some more and when I get up and start walking I got a bad contractions and I felt this weird popping. So the contraction was so bad I couldn`t even move. When it was over I felt fine and continued to walk. About a minute later I got another bad contraction and my water broke. It didn`t gush but I could feel it running down my leg. So they have me get back in bed and check and my water did break and now the contractions are really bad. They check and I am now 7 cm dilated. The contractions just kept coming really hard and fast. They called the doctor because I had not had my second round of antibotics yet. I wasn`t due to get them until noon. So the doc said to start them now. The nurses then started getting the room ready and the baby`s bed ready. So by noon they had everything about ready and I was dilated to 8 cm. and the baby was really low. The doc came in a little after noon and checked and said I was 9.5. The nurses and doc just kept standing around watching me and the monitors and kept asking me do you feel like you need to push but I didn`t. Then about 12:30 the contractions were so strong and painful there was no resting at all in between them. So they gave me some Nubain but I still consider this birth without pain relief because it didn`t do anything for the pain AT ALL but it did help me relax more. So about 12:50 he had me start pushing. She was rotated the wrong way. He wanted her to turn face down before she was born. So I guess as I was pushing she was turning the right way. Then once she was turned the right way I only pushed twice and she was born at 1:03 pm. She came so fast that he didn`t have time to give me an episiotomy so I have a second degree tear. She came out and her head was really purple. They said it was bruised because she came out so fast. It was fast but definaltly very painful. So they were getting her cleaned up and the doc was stitching me up. then probably the worst part was the placenta. It wouldn`t detach. The doc was pulling on the cord to try to help it and it like sprung a leak and blood squirted ALL over. It was all over me, the nurse, the bed, the walls. It was every where. Then I guess the cord completly came off the placenta and the placenta still had not detached and the nurses kept pushing on my stomach. It hurt so bad but wasn`t helping so then the doctor had to reach his hand up there and pull the placenta out. That hurt just as much if not more then when Kaylee was coming out. It was very bad and very painful but he was able to get the whole placenta out. My husband said that the room was a mess. Even the doctor before he left said it looked like a sacrafice/slaughter was going on in here. It was bad. My husband said you couldn't hardly walk anywhere in the room and you were walking in gross stuff. The stitches are a pain but most of my discomfort is the crampy/achyness from removing the placenta. That is has been the worst these last few days is my stomach has been so achy and sore and crampy from him doing whatever he did up there. But Kaylee is doing awesome. She is wonderful and it is so worth all the pain. My miracle baby!!
