I was scheduled for an induction on September 4, and when I finally got in my room and settled, they started me on pitocin at about 10 or 1030am. I was only 1-2cm and 50%. I struggled with that all day, and when they checked me at about 5pm, I was a full 2cm. So they decided to let me take a break to eat, and then try cervidil (sp?), which was horrible just because it hurt to be put in. I was crampy and tired, and when morning came they took it out around 6am, and I was 2-3cm. They couldn't break my water before then because the baby was too high and they were worried the cord would come out if they broke it. So, they put me back on pitocin, and I dilated to 3cm when they decided to break my water at about 1pm. I had so much pressure on my butt before my water broke, so a few minutes after that the contractions were HORRIBLE. Worst pain in my life, so I asked for the epidural. I had so much pressure down there through each contraction that I don't even know how people can get the epidural and sleep and all that. It was horrible.. so about an hour after they broke my water, about 15 minutes after the epidural, I asked them if there was anything I could do for the pressure because it was so bad. So she checked me, and I was already 7cm. So I sat around for about 30 minutes when the pressure got even worse, and since nurses were in and out of my room, they checked me again, and I was already 9.5 cm. But then his heartrate was dropping so I had to lay on my side through the contractions and breathe like no other haha.. and about 5 minutes after she checked me I got HORRIBLE pressure to push, and it hurt sooo bad trying to keep from pushing, and I was going crazy. So they came back, I was a full 10cm, and it was time to push. About 20-30 minutes later, he was born! The cord was wrapped around his neck and that's why his heartrate was dropping, but he is ok now! They said it was a fast labor, and I pushed hard so I wouldn't have to have a c-section. But all is good now, and he is a whopping 8lbs., 12 oz. and 21 3/4 in. long. I'll probably put up a picture later, but everyone is doing wonderfully!
