Andrew-James-YellowHawk`s birthstory
okay, i was suppose to go to the hospital at 6 am but i woke up late so i ended up there at 7:45 am instead. rite away they checked me and i was dilated to a `tight two`. so they broke my water at 8 am. which made me start to contract a bit. but it wasnt enough to really put me into complete labor, so they gave me some contracting causing medication in my IV. i started contracting short, painful, close together conractions. which they didnt take for really serious conractions. as they got worse they told me it would help the pain if i got into a hot bath and soaked. it sure did, but the pain still very much there. i had the nurse check my dilation to see if i wa dilated enough to get pain medication yet. (which was a 4 for the medication) she checked me and told me i was, told me to get out, lie in the bed, and call her when i was ready for it. so i rushed out of the tub and pretty much ran to the bed before i had another contraction. the conractions was so bad i got worn out between each one and started passing out. i found out about 5 minutes after i got out of the bath that i couldnt get the pain medication because some other woman was in labor and she happent o have the same doctor as i. so i had to wait until she was done having that kid to have pain meds. so i decieded to stay in the bed and wait instead of getting back into the tub again. me and mom started connecting in a way ive never felt before. we started breating through my contractions together as one and looking deeply into one anothers eyes. it was completely weird because everytime we would breath differently or one of us would look away from eachtoher, my contraction actually felt worse. i was focusing completely on our breathing and her eyes. the nurse came in and checked me once again and i was dilated to a 5. i passed out again and remember a few more contractions. about 45 minutes after she checked me at 5 cm i started to feel the urge to push without meaning to. so my mom told the nurse to check me again. and she did. she hurried up and took her glove off and told my mom i was crowning. so she went and my doctor came running into the room 2 minutes later. and they began telling me that when i felt the next conraction to push as hard as i could and as long as i could. then my doctor cut me down there. then i started a contraction so i started puhing a bad as i could, the head came out but i couldn`t push anymore so i stopped and his head went back in. so the next contraction came not even 30 seconds later, so began pushing my hardest and BOOM! i felt the head plop out!! right as my doctor said, `thats the head, just one more big push now`, i seen a big puddle of blood squirt out and i started to conract again. so i pushed my hardest and suddenly i seen my beautiful son. ..! my mom cut the umbilical cord, they put him in a blanket and handed him right to me. i grabbed him up, and in those moments i didnt feel any of my non-medicated pain. and my doctor stitched me up. they took Andrew to do the APGAR test on him and i passed out. so my plans on having a medicated birth was ruined and i ended up not having any pain medication. and i did really well!! they said i did better than most grown women when they are medicated. so im pretty proud of myself for handling myself. and i got my beautiful son. THANK YOU GOD.
