Weel here goes, my waters broke at 2.45am saturday morning, went to hospaital but labour had not started, I was kept in hospital as it is baby number 5 andd they said safer for me and baby to stay there. I was examined at 7am sunday morning to see if anything was happening, they said cervix was closed and nothing happening, they wanted to induce me then but I declined as I know when you are induced you have to be constantly monitored and I like to have an active labour. So they sent me back to the ward to went and see wht happened. Sunday afternoon they took bloods and said it looked like I might be getting an infection so we agreed that if nothing happened I would be induced monday morning. At around 1am sunday night I started to have niggles which lasted until 7am monday morning when I went across to delivery. When I arrived all pains stopped!!!! So they put baby on monitor then we discussed induction. I was examined at 10.30am and was already 4cm dialated and my cervix was really stretchy. But I was in no pain at all!!!!!! They put me on a drip at 11.30 to induce labour. The midwife said she would start it off but she would leave at 12.45 as her shift was over, i jokingly said `it might be here by then!!!``` At about 12.15 I started to have some niggles but nothing much, I was having contractions every 2 mins but they were really not painful at all. I was examined at 12.45 as I felt things were happening, I was 7cm but still had a large piece of cervix covering the opening so midwife said would be a while yet!!!!!! So there I was laying on the bed waiting for the BIG contractions that never came, I told the midwife that I think I need to open my bowels so she said she would go get a bedpan, but then said on econd thoughts let me have a look first!!! THen she looked paniced she pushed the emergency button for another midwife to come and I had to push!!!! She said its not a poo its a head!!!!!!!! I couldnt beleive it was sooo close, she put her had between my legs to keep the head in and told me not to push, the other midwife came and was running around the room getting everything ready, well litterally 2 mins later I HAD TO PUSH AND OUT HE FLEW!!!!!! The midwives were both in shock at how quick things happened,, I warned her in advance that the same kind of thing happened with my last 2, they just come really quick down the birth canal!!!!! I was scared that there mioght be problems with the placenta coming out as it took 1 hour last time but it was out within 5 minutes. He is perfect 6lbs exactly with lots of black hair. He was monitored for 24 hours as my waters broke so long before the birth but he is fine. I will try to post pics later.
