Original due date: October 17, 2008
Type of delivery: Cesarean section
Duration of labor: about 25 minutes from cut to stitch
Weight @ birth: 9 lbs 7 oz
Length @ birth: 20 1/2 inches
Not much of a story since it was scheduled. I was scheduled to be at the hospital at 9:30 AM for my noon c-section. Went into surgery at about 12:10 and was in recovery at about 12:45. My sweet girl came out screaming and weighed 9 lbs 7 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long.
Since all of my other children were vaginal deliveries (the first two being terrific...the third one's recovery was horrendous since she ripped me from hole to hole..sorry if TMI) that is why I opted for the section this time. I didn't want to push out another big baby. Between a section and a bad vaginal delivery...a section is way better. You hurt like hell the first night once your epidural wears off but every day is so much better. I haven't taken any pain medication since I've been home and even though the incision burns and I hate not being able to sleep on my side...it's very tolerable.
