Julain`s birthstory

I`d been hoping to have Julian on his daddy`s birthday of 06-08-08, but he arrived one day earlier.
I went to my sister in laws birthday party for a few hours and afterwards went to IHOP with my husband, father in law, and his girlfriend.
I didn`t have a single sign of labor, just typical pregnancy discomforts. I felt fine, just a little tired.
When we got home, almost exactly midnight, I started having contractions. I didn`t get too excited because I was afraid it was false labor, but I did start timing them. In the first hour, I had 13 contractions and so we headed to the hospital.
When we got to the hospital I was already 7 cm. I kept a pretty good outlook through out my labor. I made sure to laugh alot and not give anyone any problems. I steadily progressed one cm. and hour and got stuck on 9 for a while. By that time I already had my epidural.
After pushing for 2 hours the dr came in and delived him with a full episiotomy.
All in all labor wasn`t all that bad!
The episiotomy is quite painful while it heals and really high maintenance. It`s taking a little longer to recover because the dr. had to cut so much.
Well, after a full day they decided to put him into special care because he had some breathing issues. Turns out he has a soft esophagus and acid reflux. But both will fix itself with time. As of today (06-10-08) He`s still in special care and hope to be taking him home tomorrow!

Also trying to pump while he`s in the hospital so he can have mommy`s extra special milk. They have been giving him similac when there isn`t enough milk, but today had been a huge increase in my supply!

Can`t wait to bring him home!
