London`s birthstory

We checked into the hospital on Wednesday, May 7th at 10pm and they started me on cervidil (sp?), which helps to soften the cervix and even cause contractions. I started having some mild contractions and was given some pain med to ease the pain and an Ambien sleeping pill. Off to sleep I went. The next morning Thursday, May 8th they took me down to L&D where they began me on Pitocin to induce the labor at around 8:30am. Contractions started quick and began to come closer together. I dilated from a 1 to 3 real quick and was then given my epidural....oh how relieved I felt then...the pain was gone. Then I went from a 3 to a 8 all within about 5 hours. Here is where it all stopped...I wouldn't dilate past an 8 and everytime I had a strong contraction the baby's heartrate would drop. I was at an 8 for about 2 hours before my Dr said that we need to go ahead and do a c-section and get him out. This was about 5:00pm. So C-section...it is...I was down but happy at the same time knowing I would be holding my baby in my arms real soon. They began prepping me for the C-section and then here London make his arrival into this world at 6:21pm. Oh how happy I felt to finally meet him and hold him in my arms. I love this little bundle of joy already.
