ZARIA-JEZEBEL`s birthstory

My waters broke as i was getting out of bed after a lovely sleep in at 0910hrs i couldnt believe it i was in no pain at all just shocked at how it happened with a pop then a gush that soaked my bed 1 of the places i had told friends i didnt want it happening i got out of bed & it was still gushing out all down my legs.. I wasnt sure if i had pee`d myself or it was finally all about to happen.. I phoned my partner whom was at work & told him ` I think my waters have just broken `, he asked me if i was joking. Pretty funny joke. This is our 1st bubs so we were both a little unsure of what to do.. I phoned the hospital & confirmed yes my water had possibly broken.. They told me to have a shower then head to hospital, I still wasn`t prepared properly to go to hospital yet so i packed my bags & waited anxiously for soon 2 be daddy to arrive home..
Once arriving at the hospital i was given an internal which confirmed my waters had broken but i wasnt yet dilated therefore still no contraction pains or discomfort..
At 1430 they commenced syntocinon augmentation which is meant to speed up dilation & induce labour still at 2043 i was still only 4-5cms dilated.. I was so tired by this stage already & thought yes im half way there. I had opted for natural drug free labour but by this stage i decided to try the gas which made me get the shakes & didnt really help me with the pain at all probably cos contractions were coming approx every couple of mins & i was too slow at sucking it in instead trying to have a rest before the next contraction started..
At 0015 after lots more very strong painful contractions & several vulgar words i had another internal awaiting eagerly to find out how dilated i was now, the midwife said ` your not going to be very happy with what i am about to tell you, your still only 5cms dilated`. What still only 5cms dilated how much longer was this going to take i was very much over this process oh about 5hrs ago..At this stage i opted for an epidural 1 thing i didnt really want to have as im a needle phobic but i was so stuffed n over having these contractions & at this rate i might be there all week in labour.. At 0100 Epidural was inserted, trying to keep still while having contractions while a needle ( well actually 2 needles 1 to numb then the other the epidural ) gets shoved in your spine was difficult then it wouldnt screw in & the needle man had to start the process again.. But 15mins later i was in bliss no pain & very much awake i didnt care anymore how long it took just as long as she arrived healthy & safe whenever she was ready was fine by me now.. if i had been 8-9cms dilated i probably wouldnt have had it though i would have perservered..
AT 0300 yet another internal examination after bubs had done a poo inside of me a sign of stress the midwife informs me & they think that she maybe breech.. An ultrasound confirms that she is coming bum 1st.. So after 13.5 hrs in labour most of which was drugfree im told i have to have an emergency caesarean so off i went to theatre & my beautiful lil girl got her 1st taste of life on the outside at 0439..
