Well, I was scheduled to be induced on 10/6/08 at 8 pm. Only one day after my due date ( I loved my doctor for that!) because my doctor thought that she was going to be big and didn't want her stressing out during labor. So, I THOUGHT I would have all day Monday (the 6th) to pack and finish things here and there. Oh how wrong was I! I woke up that morning at 4am with the feeling of needing to poop really bad...so me and my tummy roll out of bed and as soon as I sat down on the toliet I heard this "plop" and I looked down and realized that I was losing my plug. Ok...have to admit, I didn't think anything was going to happen. I was wrong again! The contractions started coming! They were alot more powerful than the one's I had had earier that week. So, I tried to wake up my hubby aroung 4:30 and tell him that it was time to get up, but he rolled over and told me that it was okay and to go back to bed. Oh how he just didn't know! I kept thinking that I still wasen't really in labor, so I walked up and down the hallway of our apartment and by 5:15 am they were getting alot more real and painful. So I wake up my husband for real this time and he jumps in the shower as I'm yelling at him to hurry up. We get going to the hospital around 7am, and by the time I'm being checked in, I'm doubled over in pain from the contractions. They checked me around 7:30 and I was all the way effaced and 3cm dialated. I said "oh crap. this is for real this time" I asked how soon I could get the epidural and she said as soon as my lab work came back. Well, they had just drawn that so I still had a good 45 min. left. By the time I got it, I was leaning on my i.v. pole and pleading for an epi. Long story short, I got it, it wasen't as bad as I thought, BUT as soon as I was in "real" labor it wore off on half of my body. My left side was un-numb and my right side was numb. Horrible pain came flooding back and I asked for a top off and when she checked me I was at 9 cm. Too late. So at 2:00pm I was complete and started to push. And push and push and push. All they kept saying to me was here she comes! I can see her! Wow! Look at all that hair! I pushed untill 4:01pm when little Isabella Grace came into the world. She weighed 7lbs. 12ozs. and was 20inches long. She passed all of her tests with flying colors and is a great baby. I had a 2nd degree tear and had to get 15 stitches, but I'd do it all over again if I had too!
