Here is Boone's Delievery Story!!!
Ok so for everyone who is wondering how everything went on monday the 17th when our little one Boone arrived here is the story...
I went in to be induced at 6am but then had to be postponed till 11am so when we finally got in and all set up on the monitors, we found out that I was having contractions (minor) on my own every 4 mins or so... after all that it was 1:30...At 2:00 they gave me my first dose of cervidal which goes up by my cervix and is suppose to make me dilate and go into labor...I had to stay in bed for an hour...at that time when I was just waiting my doctor came in and looked at my monitors and checked out my graphs. He told me I was in labor and they won’t need to give me a second dose of cervadil I was excited because No one goes into labor on the first dose. So he said at 5-5:30 he would start me on pitocin and see how it goes from there. Then they told me to walk around for an hour..when I got up and started walking around then I started having menstrual cramping and it kept coming back to back so I only walked for about 45 mins...then wanted to go lay back down...at around 5:30 the nurse came in to check on me and they noticed some variables on my graph..meaning that with my contractions Boone’s heartbeat was going up and down and they weren’t sure how he was handleing labor...so they put me on some fluids in my IV and then gave me some oxygen because my contractions were getting stronger...this went on for about 30 mins then I went to the bathroom...when I came back and was laying down still going through my contractions they were just minor..all of a sudden my water broke and then they checked me and I went from 1 cm to 3 cm and sure enough my water had broke..well then the contractions went from 3 on the pain scale to 6 and they were back to back we went through labor like this where the contractions were strong and back to back for about 30-45 mins then I asked for the epidural...and so they came in and gave it to me and it took about 20 mins for everything to kick in and then my contractions started to slow down and not come on so often (it’s not like I could feel them anyway) then Boone’s heartbeat started to go down so they had me roll over on one side that didn’t work then they had me lay semi on my back with my legs open hoping he would engage cause he was posterior meaning facing up insted of towards my back so zack was rubbing my back with every contraction tryin to get him to turn his head and engage...during this time my doctor came in and talked to me telling me he didnt like what he saw was going on with Boone and that if this kept up I would have to have a c-section because I wasn’t even to the intense part of labor where I need to push and if he wasn’t doing well now he most likely wouldn’t do good when that part came up he said he was going to go walk and think about what we might do and then come back.....well the back rubbing wasn’t working so they tried turning me on my side again to see if that would raise his heartbeat and then all of sudden his heartbeat dropped instantly down really low and they had to wheel me into an emergency c-section right then all these nurses came in they unhooked my wires and the rails came up and I was down the hallway...I was very scared I started crying I didn’t know if Boone was dieing, I was scared to get cut open, I couldn’t hold zack’s hand it was very scary with all this happening around me...they got me into the O.R. and Zack wasn’t there they were hooking me up to all this stuff then...my wonderful nurse pam checked Boone right away when we got in there and his heartbeat had stablized so we were good again...the surgeon then came over and talked to me they said they were going to set everything up right since it wasn’t an immediate emergency and everything was going to be alright...soon I was nub, shaking from the medicine and all I wanted was zack at my side...I kept asking for him and then they brought him in to sit next to me...we cried together and I told him how scared I was and he told me everything was going to be all right...well they were off and I couldn’t feel anything and all of a sudden they said here he comes...and zack said he could see him and I couldn’t hear him cry so I got upset and then I heard it and it was the most wonderful feeling in the world and he came around the curtain and there was the most beautiful baby in the whole world I was overwhelmed with joy and couldn’t believe my eyes...Zack went over and took pictures and cut the cord and they brought him to me and i couldn’t believe my eyes he wasn’t upset or really crying and I gave him kisses and told him "I would see him soon, and I love him very much" Zack then took him to the nursery and the doctor’s finished closing me up and then moved me to recovery where they waited for my legs to come back it took alittle bit...Zack came in 10 mins later and then 5 mins after that I got my baby boy and he took right to nursing and that was that he never left my side after that...We went to my recovery room and they brought him in with me and gave him to me and it was perfect he wasn’t crying or anything just chilled and slept on my chest...
So I stayed till wednesday and then they let me go home cause I was doing pretty good...I am still really sore...and can’t laugh or cough cause of the pressure down there...but it was all worth it..
