Isla-Marie-Gordon`s birthstory

when i arrived at hospital i had been having contractions for around 24 hours before but was not close enough, or strong enough, at 2pm we decided it was time to go to the hospital, when we finally had everything ready and child care sorted for ellie we got to the hospital at 4 pm lol,
we went straight to the delivery suit and my contractions went from painful to OMG I CANT TAKE THIS PAIN in no time at all lol, i had one shot of pethodine and had gas and air, after a long time pushing they realised i wasnt getting anywhere with it... a new midwife came in as it was there shift swap and she put me on my side, this seemed to do the trick as i felt her head get lower and lower in no time and her head started to crown,... i will add at this point they had to break my waters for me but they were very blood stained...after alot of swearing and OMG`s her head was finally out, with one more firm push she was out :), i was soooooo relieved as it was pain like i had never experienced before even after my 1st born, they were amazed to see she was a big girl and weighed 9lb 1, this was a shock after having ellie at just 7 lb 7 lol. after it was time to deliver the placenter, this again wasnt easy it felt like the head all over again!!! , i finally felt like it was all over and i could enjoy my baby girl....BUT THEN i was still contracting like before, i didnt understand... i was loosing lots and lots of blood and i had about 5 people in the room with me, wich is scarey in itself as the more people the more serious it seemed!!... the doctor came in and told me i had huge masses of clots inside me and they could try and get them out there or take me to theatre... i didnt want to go to theatre as dave wasnt allowed to come and it made it seem alot more scarey :( i was scared at this point as they moved me around abit and told me to get ready.... i took lots and lots of gas and air (with every breath i took) as they reached inside me over and over and over again for a long time just pulling out massive clots that had built up inside me...(sorry too much info but....) dave said it was like pulling steaks out of me there was so much,
i was later told i lost one third of my total bodys worth.... i was very drained as you can imagine and was put on drip after drip after drip to rehydrate my body....
i stayed in the delivery suit over night and was not moved to maternity ward till later the next morning so they could keep an eye on me.

so although it was a short labour, there was a long period of pain after delivery also and i i wont be doing it again in a hurry lol

SHE IS SOOOOOOO WORTH IT :)
