We had OUR first baby BOY!

I was contracting for two weeks I actually went in. I never knew if it was `time` yet...On May 12, 2008 at about 3:00 pm I started having some contractions but nothing unusual like I was have prior to that. I had my doctor`s appt. at 5:00 pm. The contractions seemed to be getting closer and my husband was convinced it was `time`. My mom came to watch the girls and said that `I wasn`t coming back and it was time to have the baby`. My husband grabbed my bag and off we went to see the doctor. Well, sure enough doctor checked me and I was 3 cm and baby was low. He said to `go home and get you bag and check into Labor and Delivery`...and I said, `Well, I already have it with me!` He said, `Well, then go to L&D`..so we headed to the hospital were I waited a few before I actually got into the L&D unit. We finally got in and I was put into the `triage` room and they did all the necessary baby checks! The baby was doing good and my contractions were all over the place. I got admitted into my room and labored for a while...the contractions were never getting closer together but stronger. I was told to walk up and down the halls which I did..I was so excited and neverous at the same time...even though this was already my 3rd child. I remember walking down the halls and hearing other moms delivering and the baby`s first cry..I knew my time was soon. Time came and went it was already 10:30 pm and the baby was doing fine and my contractions seemed stronger but not much progress. I was stuck at 4cm. I wanted to try a natural child-birth and I really wasn`t in so much pain since I had so much time within the next contraction to breathe. Well, the time came for the question, `Do you want and epidural?`...I said, `I don`t know`...the nurse replied, `Why drive, when you can fly.` I said, `Fine, I`ll do it.` At about 1:00 am I had my edpidural..I was really scared this time for some odd reason..shivering and being stabbed twice before it was actually in! Baby and I were doing great..still at 4 cm...around 3:00 am I felt a trickle..and I thought I urinated on myself..but it was my water. At that time I was around 6 cm..and still going. My doctor came in around 6:00 am and wanted to check the baby because he wasn`t getting good read outs on the baby...well, he said the bag wasn`t completely broken and he popped it. Baby was doing good...slowing but surely time went and I felt the epidural only on one side..I requested another `boulous` at between 9:00 and 10:00 am and they gave it to me..which was a mistake because I was ready to push at 10:30 am. I pushed and pushed and he came out little by little...I was having some trouble were he was trying to come out near the perineal and my doc thought he was just going to make it out...so he go the vaccum and pulled him out and I TORE! Not fun! Out came my beautiful SON that I did not know we were having (we love SURPRISES) and boy was I Surprised! Over-joyed! Estastic! He was beautiful and I couldn`t even explain how much I already loved him! He was perfect in everyway..a healthy baby boy named Eric James Ramos!
