Harley-Piper-Newman-`s birthstory
Woke up on Tuesday morning and went to the loo and sorry TMI but wiped myself and my plug came out and i started feeling twinges, so i raced downstairs (or wobbled downstairs) and told my husband he couldnt go to work today as the baby was coming, i was getting small contractions at this point, we decided not to tell our daughter but we got her ready and we brought her to school and then we went straight to the hospital, they put me on a monitor and checked how far dilated i was and i was gutted when she said only 1cm and told me to go home and come back, i said i didnt want to go home as i knew the baby was coming soon, so she said ok 10 more mins on the monitor and with that 3 massive contractions off the scale and i got to stay in the room wahey !!, i used a birthing ball (which was fantastic and i would highly recommend). From 11am to 3.30pm my contractions were every 1 minute apart, by 3.30pm i was in active labour and decided then i would have some pethadine (i was a bit mental i think and decided not to have gas and air at all through my labour as i wanted ot be in control). At about 4pm i begged them to check me again and i was only 4cm dilated and by 6.30 i had had enough so again they checked and i was fully dilated and they popped my waters and half hour of pushing and my husband told me her head was out, the cord was wrapped tightly round her neck and the midwife had to hold her as the further i pushed the tighter the cord got on her, it was so tight she was being straggled and they couldnt get it round her so they had to cut it free and they she screamed the place down and came out the rest of the way, she was absolutely perfect and a miniature of my daughter, i was so relieved that i had managed it without much pain relief and no gas and air as i was completely with it when she was born and was able to enjoy her, unfortunately she was so tiny the special care team came to take her away and after much begging and pleading they left her with me for the nite to see how she got on, her temperature was real low and after a day and half in an incubator she picked up and managed to hold her own temperature and we are now home safe and well, all her clothes are too big for her, but i am soo happy and so proud and my daughter adores her and my hubbie is fantastic with his second daughter, breast feeding is painful but i am goin to keep goin as she wont take a bottle and midwife said if i dont feed her she will have to go to the NICU ward, anyway good luck to those of you still waiting and congrats to those of you who have had their baby`s xx
