Pollyanna`s birthstory

An amazing experience that I will remember forever ~ despite my anaesetist scaring the life out of me the first time I met her, she was just wonderful throughout. The surgeon took time to speak to me also, so with the addition of my lovely Simon I knew that I was in safe hands.

My hospital is undergoing major works to its maternity department so the operating theatre was actually a temporary space age trailor. Trust me though, it was ultra modern and very clean.

My iron level is extremely low at the moment & I am not feeling myself at all, so I will keep this brief.....

The first special moment that stands out is in the theatre after some time of pulling/tugging/suction noises etc. I was chattering away to the anaesetist and Simon said `shhh --- its our baby`. Wow is all I can say. I don`t think I have ever set my eyes on a more beautiful thing. I was handed her first for a few moments before they cleaned/weighed her and then delivered my placenta. Really, from this moment on I have had such a rush.

I am on cloud 9.

I came home on Sunday which was quite an adjustment in itself actually. But, will post more and get back in touch when everyone feels more settled and I have some energy back. Hopefully my levels don`t drop anymore otherwise I have to have a transfusion.

See some pics - more to come.

:o)
