BIRTH STORY

so all night I was getting mild cramping..kept waking in the night at 2am and again at 4am..they were getting stronger...and closer together..so I knew this was it..I thought i'd wait them out see what happens..well around 8am..they all of a sudden started getting really painful and close together..I couldn't talk through them and felt like I needed to stay on the toilet, I kept saying...I need to wee..lol..I got Mark to call the l&d ward and they said to come straight in..well we had to drive 20miles to the nearest hospital, in the morning work traffic jams...ughhh..they started coming closer and closer together..I was crawling up the car roof..they were 2mins apart..and I was in a traffic jam..my dad eventually got to a bus lane and just sped down it..(annoying alot of people might I add..)..got to the hospital and couldn't walk, got in a wheelchair and taken straight to a room I was checked at 100% effaced and 7cm dialated..they gave me gas an air an pethadine..took the edge off but still not all of the pain..my waters broke at 9:30am and at 11:00am I felt like I needed to push..I was pushing but nothing was happening...and they checked and she was stuck on a tiny "lip" on my womb..the midwife put her fingers in and poked the lip away..(real painful)..and at 11:36am she was born..She just kind of flew out..once her head had appeared..She was quiet and looked around the room..then had a bit of a cry..then settled to sleep..she's a tiny girl version of Jacob..now I need to get to know her propperly..x
