Nathan was born on sat the 28th of June 08. My labour started at 2a.m. Sat morn and he was born at 5.27p.m. Sat. evening.
At 2 cent i was given pethadin and then quickley went to 4. The pain was bareable, was on my own at the time (my husband was told to go home and get some sleep!)
Went to the labour ward and got the epi straight away, then shot up to 8 cm by 9.30 that morn. I stayed at 8 until bout 4 p.m that day, through out the whole day i got 2 more top ups of epi. I felt nothing all day. I had no urge to push and didnt feel the contractions coming either. Good thing or bad thing im not sure!!!
At 10 cm i pushed for one hour 4-5p.m.. He didnt move, so they were just about to get an emergency section , but didnt have a room spare at the time!! Of course i was scared to have a section as i felt not been able to drive for 6 wks would kill me! but insted the episotamey nearly did!!

Nathan was facing the wrong way so i was cut and he came out by suction in 3 pushes and thrown up on me not cleaned, which i wanted. The midwifes then called in a everyone to show them that Nathan had got his cord in a knot and was around his neck too.
He didnt cry or move. He was having trouble breathing, had a few staring episodes ( which i never understood)He did wee up in the air!!!
When they were stiching me up (which took one half hours) my blood pressure dropped suddenly and i fainted, again and again, my husband thought i was dying!!! poor fella!
They toke Nathan away and he was in neo natal unit for 4 days. I was so sick downstairs from stitches and piles that i needed a wheel chair to get down to his ward!! I only started breast feeding him on the 3rd day, which was brilliant. He latched on straight away and we bonded. I was in hospital for 6 days.
