Micah-Anthony-Watson`s birthstory
Monday at midnight I was admitted into Labor and Delivery at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. My labor started (was induced) by 1am, they put an IV in my arm and got me started on that Pitocin. Around 8am Tuesday morning, my doctor came in and broke my water and let me tell you.. it was nothing pretty! OMG, I will never forget how that felt! It was so uncomfortable, I kept trying to close my legs and kick my doctor away. After struggling with me for about 15 minutes, she completed her task. It felt so icky having all that fluid come gushing out of me.. it felt like I was like peeing on myself or something! I just wanted to crawl into a dark pit after I passed gas in front of my nurse.. if I were white, I probably would have been so RED. I kept apologzing and she kept telling me that it was alright, it was the baby! James thought it was the funniest stuff in the world.. he made me soooo MAD!! So, my contractions started coming and I was trying to be a soldier!! At first, the contractions weren't so bad, but after a while They got to HURTING!!!! I asked for a little pain medication around 10:30am. To be honest, that SH*T did not help. Anywho, around 12pm my nurse comes into the room and asks me to put on an oxygen mask for the baby. Around this time, I got sooo sick to the stomach. I mean I was literally sick! I was holding James' hand and starting to cry. My nurse comes in and she sees me there in my ill state and I'm like.. "Girl, I need to throw up.. like now.." So, she hands me a white bucket thingy and I let 'er rip. OMG it was like green and stinky and just disgusting!! My nurse assured me that it was normal to vomit while in labor. So, I`m laying there in bed with the mask on and I notice that they keep coming in back and forth. Around 1:30pm my nurse comes in and turns off my Pitocin and starts pumping this other stuff into me. She said that I needed to replace some of the fluid in my stomach for the baby. She also gave me something to slow down my contractions, but I don`t think it worked. I remember hearing her say something about the baby`s heart rate going up and down. Around 2:45pm they turn the Pitocin back on and the contractions are like coming on WAAAAAYYYY strong!!! I asked for an epidural and they came in and gave it to me around 3:15pm. Again, the nurse comes into the room and she checks me to see how far I`m dilated and she lets me know that I was 6cm. She also said that the baby was having some trouble and the heart rate was going up and down and they might have to do an emergency C-section. A C-section was the last thing I wanted, but I didn`t care, as long as my baby was alright. James was really worried and he started to get nervous. He had tears in his eyes, he was so worried about our son. My mother tried to calm him down and after a while he started to be at ease. Poor guy. So the nurse left to call my doctor and before I knew it, they came rolling in there with a bed. I was placed on the bed and they got me ready for the C-section. I remember being wheeled out of the delivery room and down the hall, the light were so bright they nearly blinded me. I was sooo doped up, I don`t remember too much of anything that happened after that. I remember that I was soooooooo COLD! I kept shivering!! My mom said that the doctor came and put a blanket on me. I remember seeing my mom rubbing my hands and smiling at me.. she told me everything was going to be alright. I remember hearing him cry and then everything was OVER! After about two hours post surgery, I was placed into my room and James and my family came in. He started kissing my forehead and telling me how proud he was of me and he told me that our son was the most beautiful child he had ever seen. Finally, it was time for me to see my boy and as they brought him in to me.. I started crying when I saw him wrapped up in those blankets. James picked him up and handed him to me and it was the most glorious moment I had ever experienced.
