Biggest achievement so far:
Breathing!

Our baby Taylan was born with a rare birth defect called Vacterl Association. It only affect 1 in 250,000 and is completely unexplainable. He was born at 34 weeks and was a premie. He had a un-formed eshopagus and had surgery to create one at 1 day of life. From there he made leaps and bounds in his recovery and was so strong. At two weeks of age, Taylan had his first open heart surgery to correct a malformation of his heart caused by the Vacterl Association. He continued to get better, to the point where they decided two weeks later to take our his "jumper cables" they had in place incase needed. In a complete freak accident, when these cables were removed, the cables actually tore a hole in our sons heart. They took him into emergency open heart surgery again to correct the hole, but we're unable to do so. We lost our baby when he was 27 days old. The 27 days we had with our son is the greatest gift we could have ever received and we are so thankful for that. He taught us and so many people wonderful life lessons during his short time on earth, he was a very special little boy!
