Cecilia-Elena`s birthstory

Contracted all day Sunday. 10:30 PM Contractions 6 minutes apart lasting one minute. Went to the hospital admitted at 11:10PM. I was not dialating because my cervix is scarred from a prior procedure to remove cancerous cells. The doctor popped it open with his finger and I dialated to four in a matter of seconds. My water had broke on Friday Much to my amazement I thought I had runny discharge. Baby had shifted and my water was broken again by the doctor. I had some IV medicine but it just made me feel loopy between contractions and did nothing for the pain. I begged for my epidural. I pleaded that I was sorry and I would never do it again if they would just give me the medicine. The anestiseologist was mean. He kept saying that it will not work because I was heavy. I told him to just try please. Of course it worked just fine He was just being a a*#. I got it when I was dialated to 6. I dialated to ten by 6:30AM but I was not completely effaced. They first taked C-Section and had me wait to start pushing. Decision was made to start pushing about 9:00AM. She was turned face up and I had a lot of trouble pushing her out. They decided to shut off the epidural so I could feel the pains. I pushed in every possible position. I lost all sense of modesty when I was on my hands and knees pushing through every contraction. When the moment arrived, her head finally came out but her shoulders were twisted and got stuck between my pubic bone and tailbone. Doc reached in gave her a little twist and a good yank and she was born. For 12 hours daddy paced the floor and going to the bathroom to pray every 15 minutes or so. Grandma read a book and grinded her teeth. My sister cried so hard when she was born, saying we did it, we did it. (Who did it? If I remember she just talked and slept and watched TV) I just kept asking everyone to give me my glasses back to I could see my baby. It took a while from then to realize I was there. That whole day I was saying I will never do this again. Now with a nine day reflection. I would do it all over again tomorrow. I realize the outcome is so amazing.

Benjamin-Isaias`s birthstory

After spending 26 hours at home with contractions varying from 20 minutes to 6 minutes and calling the doctor three times and being told to stay home I went to the hospital at 4:00AM on Saturday morning. They broke my water and I only dialated to 5cm. I saw three different doctors in that time and the last one was the one who delivered my daughter a year ago. He remembered the difficuty I had with her and paid close attention to how I was progressing. After Potocin to regulate my contraction they were steady three minutes apart when around 11:30AM The babies heart began to become distressed. He asked me if I would like to through in the towel and have a c-section. And while he was in there he would just tie my tubes and I would be done. No hesitation in my decision since I had slept maybe three hours in the last three days and realized I had no strength to push. The baby became more stressed so within a half hour I am in the operating room. It was happening so fast and I was so scared. The OB said he couldn`t get another OB doctor to assist him the the Ear Nose and Throat Specialist was available to assist him. My thought was first He was the doc that put my daughters tubes in her ears and then that they would not be operating near my ears nose or throat. The anesthiologist tried to make me feel at ease with jokes then I realized how awful the pressure was getting and the Anestsiologist with his cute little accent said Time for the good stuff Lori. I remember saying I am going to get sick and Wham! I went into some Psychadelic Trip that not my most vivid dreams couldn`t compare. I don`t remember hearing the baby crying I don`t remember them showing me the baby or anything. My sister in law who was in there with me said I was talking up a storm about random things and snoring in between my sentences. I started waking up good in recovery with a wonderful morphine drip for the next 24 hours. My incision is quite a bit bigger than most. I`m thinking because it was a bit of an emergency. Three days in the hospital I am now home with my two beautiful children and couldn`t possibly ask for anything more.
