Ava-Lucy`s birthstory

Induced due to pre-eclampsia. Water broke at only 1 cm and then I wouldn`t dilate. So they manually stretched my cervix (epidural kept me from feeling what would normally be agonizing!!) by hand. The doctor managed to get me to 6 cm and then everything went really fast. I went from 6 to 10 in about 40 minutes!! Ava had some problems breathing, when she would spit up, it would come out of both her nose and mouth and she would stop breathing, turn purple and panic. She also had problems eating, her suck was really weak and after 24 hours of not being able to eat, she became severely dehydrated and started having tremors, lost almost a pound and so we gave her formula and she did great with the formula! Started looking healthy and alert. We had a few extra days in the hospital so they could run all kinds of blood tests and a CAT scan to make sure the tremors weren`t from anything serious. Everything came back normal. She`s on an Apnea monitor due to her apnea episodes. But those disappeared also and she is learning not to panic when it comes out of her nose but when it does, I do have to calm her and hold her upright, she manages to get it under control. She`s doing great and is gaining weight great, back up to her birth weight!
