Christopher-Jr.`s birthstory

For starters I was pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl. At 17wk2days my water broke for my girl twin. I went to the hospital and was there for over 3hrs before they saw me. They never wrote down I was pregnant, they just wrote I had a discharge. Can you believe that?? Well after being there for 8hrs they couldn't do anything. So being that this was already considered a high risk pregnancy (twins), I went to see my specialist. At that time I heard the worst news, he stated my little girl had a 1% chance of survival, due to her having very little fluid left. They admitted me into the hospital immediately. 4 days passed and my angel still had the strongest heart beat. I couldn't ger up on her!! Well the dr.'s said that it was a very slim chance that the boy twin would stay in. They just knew he would deliver that same night. Well that night they said if she didn't come they would do a c-section and take both of them. Well God had another plan!! My little Alanah came at 18wks. That night they waited and waited for the boy twin, but he never delivered....God is so good! They kept me in the hospital for 4wks. I went home on bedrest and had at home monitoring. On March 22nd (4wks later) I was admitted to the hospital because I was feeling very limited baby movement. Well they let me go home without checking for infections at all. So on March 24th that morning the nurses called and said I had two contractions, but not to worry. Also that night I had a discharge, which was a sign of infection. My dr. said I could come in his office that next morning or go to the hospital. My husband said I was panicing and I needed to relax so I stayed home and decided to go the next morning. I wanted to go, but since I was there two days ago I didn't want to over react. Well that night at 1:30am my water broke, I was 25wks2days. I was immediately scared since my baby had took his first poop already. My hubby and I prepared to welcome our son to the world. Well at 9:30pm Christopher Jr. was born. That was the best feeling in the world. He made all the pain so worth it. Through God all things are possible, and my son is a testimony to that!! That whole day I had dialated only 3cm and his heart rate was dropping with each contraction. Once he was delivered he was sent immediately to the NICU and placed on oxygen, fluids, and put in an incubator with photo therapy for jaundice. He was only 1lb14oz. Two days later he was placed on c-pap. He did very well on c-pap. He had a heart murmur which required surgery to close. The surgery was a success!! With the heart murmur closed he had no more apnea (stops breathing for 20sec.). Now he is on the nasal cannula at 3/4 liter with 21% oxygen (this is the last step of oxygen). They will be taking him off the cannula this weekend since he's doing so well. He also started bottle feeding this week twice a day. He is now 3lbs. He is expected to come home in 2-3wks. He has to be 4lbs and taking all feedings by bottle ( I pump since breast milk is best for them). I am also kangaroo caring him to give him that extra support. It's hard, but every minute is worth it. That little boy is my world and I can't wait for his big arrival to his home!! God bless! Feel free to contact me with questions. Sorry this was so long...
