stanley-jr`s birthstory
i went in at 7 am wed morning for inducement, they started drip at 8:30. wirhin 10 min i was havin contractions 5 min apart, the nurse asked me if i wanted pain relief i told her no. after an hour she checked me and i only dilated a cm inner (i went in at 2cm outter 1 cm inner) so i told her id take a pain relief in my iv. that didnt work very well, my contractions were getting closer together and the pain was intense, a lot more than my girls. when i hit 4 cm she asked if i wanted an epidural, i gave in. i was a firm believer in all natural, till i got it. can we say heaven sent? well after the epi she checked me an hour later i was at 6 cm 1 hour later i was at 9 cm then 30 min later shes asks me if im ready to push. i was like `already`? she said yea next contraction start pushing so i did, but there was a flap over his head that wouldnt open so she had to work it over his head plus he was rotating while in my cervix. finally she got it and told me to push, i did and she says she had to get my doc already. so we waited for doc, she arrived said give me a little push to see how long its gonna take. wekk i pushed a kittke and felt his head she told me STOP! she put on her scrubs told me to push and after 2 pushes he was out. the doc told me she was sorry that he isnt a 7.2 lb baby that he was much bigger. daddy cut the cord, she sucked out his nose and mouth, but he wasnt crying strong. come to find out he had alot of fluid in his lungs, the baby nurse spent ten min getting stuff out of his lungs, plus his poor little face was bruised from rotating and coming out as fast as he did. i got to hold him for a bit after his breathing was better. that is one of the most wonderful experiences in a womans life, to hold a life she just made in nine months laying on her belly.
after they cleaned him off and brought him back they told me his sugar was really low, i asked from what they said because he was such a big boy. (his head is 14 1/2 cm cheast is 14 cm and belly is 13 cm.) he wouldnt eat really so i gave him a litttle pep talk, he ate a bit and the nurse came back in to get him and said his sugar has went up so he didnt need an iv. needless to say i was so happy, but i do have to take him to hospital monday cause they said he has slight jaundice and they need to check that. but all in all i have a beautiful baby boy that is so perfect.
