Kayla-Grace`s birthstory

I was set to be induced November 16th at 39 weeks and 2 days but was hoping my little Kayla would decide to arrive beforehand and she did!! When I woke up Tuesday morning Nov 13th at 7 am I was pretty sure it was time to head to the hospital. We arrived at 8 and I was 5 cm dilated. I got my epidural at 9.30 and was very grateful for it - I am doomed to very bad back labors due to an old fracture on my tailbone.. The next few hours was just a relaxing waiting game really as we didn`t want her to arrive until 1 pm as we needed the Strep B antibiotics to have time to take effect. At 1.30 pm my OB broke my water and 1 hour later I was fully dilated and ready to push, but had to wait for my OB to show up and get ready. He arrived just before 3 pm and that seemed like a long wait because my epidural was not quite sufficient anymore.. But oh well, it was only half an hour of pretty extreme pain and so worth it!! Two pushes and Kayla arrived into the world at 3.01 pm. She weighed 7 lb and 5 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. She is just perfect!!!! We are both doing really well and I am so in love!! It still feels surreal that she is here! But so glad she finally is.. And is safe, healthy and alive! Thanks everyone for your love and support and encouragement during the past 9 months!!!
