Roxanna-McKinsey`s birthstory

so, of course, i had my scheduled c-section for 9:30 in the morning. while i was getting ready to leave my house i realized i was having a lot of contractions, but i kinda blamed my nerves for that, so we left and i ended up at the hospital at 7:30 am, and i get into the room where they ask you a ton of questions get you in your operating clothing and explain the procedure and all that fun stuff, and they realized i was having contractions 2 minutes apart, so i was actually in labor. so they are doing their thing and then they tell me "we are actually going to take you sooner than 9:30, maybe in like 20 minutes or so" .....so of course, they had to put some serious medication in my IV so i wouldnt throw up, lol, because iiiii was a nervous wreck and josh hadn't gotten to the hospital yet, but he was on his way. so they shot me up with some miracle drug, best thing ive ever experienced, that made my nausea go away and josh got there about a minute later. he wasnt even there a full minute before they had him in his scrubs to go into surgery. so we get into the OR and when they go to give me my spinal block i have a HUGE contraction, and when they do the spinal block you have to push out your back, and needless to say, it took forever to do the spinal blocki because my contraction hurt my ribs so bad i couldnt push back enough. but man, when they got it finished, i was living the high life. i couldnt feel ANYTHING. i was amazed. so they start the surgery and josh is sitting there with me and i start shaking intensly because my nerves are just shot by this time, and the spinal can make you shake as a side effect. then i start crying saying things like 'what if she doesnt cry' 'ijust want her to be healthy' blah blah blah, all the things youd worry about if you were about to have a baby, and about 20 minutes into it, i hear her little cry and a big "WHOA" from behind the curtain, because she was so big, lol! nd they show her to me over the curtain and pull her to clean her and what not. so josh heads over to watch her get cleaned, then heads to the nursery with her while they finish up with me. luckily the whole surgery lasted only 45 minutes because it went so well. so i head to recovery for an hour and just kinda lay there in shock that i just had a baby, lol. then they wheel me off to my room. after that a pediatrician comes in and tells me they have to do a procedure on her or her blood sugars are going to drop too low, because her blood sugar at thtat time was 31. so of course i give the go ahead on that. so a couple of hours pass, i get a few visitors, make some phone calls, sleep a lot. then around 8:00pm they allow me to start walking, so i walk in the hallway for a bit, and they finally tell me i can go see her. so i hop in a wheelchair and go down to the NICU to see her. it was the happiest moment and saddest moment of my life. i was so happy to finally see her, but it was so depressing because she had all these wires and moniters and things hooked up to her, and i couldnt hold her yet. so i stayed with her for a little while and then went back to my room to rest. over the next couple of days i went every 3 hours, and they let me hold her and feed her. then when they discharged me, i went home, got some more clothes, and headed right back up there. the hospital had some rooms on the 6th floor that weren't being used, so i rented one out for a few days for $25 a night and josh and i stayed there until she was discharged a couple days later. so she is home now and doing awesome. healthy as anything :) but i gotta go, shes ready to eat
