Michelle-Krystalynn`s birthstory

I went in for my sheduled ultrasound to check my fluid level the day before my weekly Dr`s appointment and the fluid level was 6. It was the second time it had been that low, as I had been having levels around 7-8 and the Dr was waiting it out and watching. When the level came back at 6 the nurse paged my doctor and when she came back she said `Well are you ok with being induced today?`. I just looked at my husband and then back at the nurse and said well sure! They sent me up to labor and delivery where I was put on the monitor for about an hour. My doctor was actually leaving from being on call but she stopped in to see me before she left. The doctor who delivered my baby was really great though! :) At 11:30 am they checked me and decided to start pitocin. the level of pitocin was slowly increased up to the maximum and I didn`t have much discomfort with the contractions. They said sometimes it can take a while to get the contractions regular and stronger so they kept me on the max of pitocin until about 8 pm and I still didn`t have much pain. When the doctor checked me again at 8 pm my water broke and I was about 4 cm dialated and 90% effaced. After the water broke the contractions started to get pretty uncomfortable and I kept moving from the bed, to the birthing ball, to the rocking chair to keep comfortable. My sister and my husband were in the room with me helping me out and both were great. My husband was so nervous though he kept pacing back and forth. At about 11:30 ish pm the pain was pretty intense at the end of the contractions, the doctor checked me and I was at 8 centimeters. Shortly after I asked for some pain medication to take the edge off the contractions. They gave me nubain 1/2 as a shot and 1/2 through my IV. That stuff really works well! It helped make the contractions bearable. By around 12ish I was 9 cm and starting to feel the pressure to push. Honestly I think that last 1/2 hour or so was the worst, worse than all the contractions. It was horrible to have to try to fight to not push. When I couldn`t bear it any more the doctor checked me again I was ready to push. I pushed for 15 minutes and my baby girl was born at 1:03 am! Michelle Krystalynn weighed in at 7 lbs 3 oz and was 20 inches long. She is soooo beautiful! I will try to post a picture but when I have tried to post pictures before my computer doesn`t let me, I don`t think it`s very compatible. Anyways...I did it with no epidural like I wanted to! She is so worth all the discomfort of the past 9 months. :) We came home yesterday and are both doing well. I`m just a little sore from the tear I got during delivery but otherwise feeling great! Michelle is such a little angel, although she sure does love to eat!!!
