So on Friday the 6th of Feb I got up at about 6.30am to go to the toilet (Trav was just leaving for work)...I started getting these tummy pains but they felt like "hunger pains" so I just ignored it and went back into bed - after about 10 / 15mins I was getting them again (I just kept thinking - maybe I have an upset tummy - LOL) I kept trying to sleep it off but they kept coming so I started thinking "OMG maybe these are what contractions feel like" so I started to time them - at that point they were coming every 10min's and at about 10.00am my Mum had given me a call (like she had been doing all wekk LOL) to see if anything has happened yet...I told her about my pains and said I was going to call my doctor...I called the doc and spoke to the midwife and she advised me to take 2 panadol's and rest and if it's the real thing, the pains will still come if not it's false labour but to call her back at lunch time and let her know...I took the panadol and tried to rest but couldnt so I called her back at 12.00pm and told her they were still coming and they were coming about every 5min's and lasting about 45sec - 1min so she told me to call the hopsital....I call the hospital and told the midwife what was going on...she told me to take a shower and not come in unless the pains were unbearable (at that point they were okay to deal with) in the mean time I called Trav, My Mum and Mother In Law and then went for a shower...
After I came out of the shower I had something to eat but my pains were getting a bit stronger and My Mum thought I should go into hospital...so I got my bags and we headed off to the hospital - There were no rooms available so I was waiting around for about 40min's (at that time It would have been about 2.30pm) I ended up being seen my the midwife who checked me when I thought my waters had broke...she did the check (which mind you hurt me so bad that I ended up crying) and made my Mum and Mother In Law cry as well LOL....When she checked me I was "DRUM ROLL PLEASEEEEEEEEEE" 6cm dialated and she could feel the baby's head - I couldnt believe it....I left the bags in the car expecting it to be nothing and thought they were going to send me home...So Trav went and got the bags out of the car and they got me into the room - My contractions were getting stronger and lasting longer - (I said I would do this without meds if possible but if worse came to worse I would take "Gas and Air") I kept walking around, drinking lots of water, and just breathing through each contraction as they came - I had gone to the toilet by then and lost my plug but my waters were still not broken...Trav, My Mum and Mother In Law were such a help...wipping my face, rubbing my back, massaging my legs....
At about 7.00pm she checked to see how dialated I was and I was at 9cm - she tried to break my waters but it hurt to much and wouldnt break...I was in a bit of pain but she said If I walked around and sat on a massage ball and bounced that it would probably help me to get to 10cm quicker....so I did all that and at about 7.30pm I had a real urge to push - so she got me on the bed and checked to see if there were any changes...I was fully dialated and ready to go (We ended up having my Mum and Mother In Law in the room with us - I am so glad I did....there were such a great help and comfort) When I got my first contraction and felt the urge to push...I totaly freaked out and started screaming...the midwife had to tell me to calm down and to just listen to her instructions....with every contraction it got harder to push and I kept crying and saying "I cant do this" but had Trav and the others pushing me on and kissing my forehead and telling me that I was doing a great job and it's almost done...With around my 5th push my waters broke and Trav could see the head - at 8.45pm the baby was out and they wraped him up and put him on me and the whole room was in tears LOL...I started crying and asking "What did I have - LOL" so the midwife lifted up the blanket and Trav had his hand on his cheast and said "A boy" with tears rolling down his face...I was crying but no tears were coming out...They got me to dilivery the placenta (which felt sooooooo weird)...I got a tiny tear but it's not worth stitching it up so it will just heal on it's own - But it was just amazing and I couldnt believe it - We were all so overjoyed!!! I was only in labour for 1hr and 17min's and did it all without any medication - I am so proud of myself...It was tough and scary but I wouldnt have it any other way!!! Jayden was a bit restless that night because no one really attended to us (because there were 6 other births going on)....I didnt get cleaned up till about 11.30a that night and he had been on my chest that whole time (cold and not feed) so they kept coming in to check his temp and for me to fed him - the first 2 nights in hospital were a bit rough but Jayden is all settled now!!! Jayden is such a blessing to our life and I am so in-love with him and woo hoo I was right - I knew he would come early and I actually said the 6th as well HaHa -
Thanks for reading ladies (hope I didnt bore you to much)
