Aiden-Matthew`s birthstory

Monday February 4th I got a call from my midwife saying that they got the results of my urine back and it had a lot of protein in it, so that combined with the high blood pressures, they decided to induce me that morning. I started out with just some cervadil and after 12 hours it had thinned out considerably but still not enough for pitocin. They wanted me to be about 4 centimeters before so that it would work at its best, so they gave me another dose of cervadil that night. When they checked in the morning I was practically 6 centimeters. I started progressing on my own so they didn`t give me pitocin. Around 12 or so I was complete and ready to push. I pushed for 3 1/2 hours and saw his little head slowly moving down teh birth canal, but unfortunately he was sideways in my pelvis so I never could get his head out. After all that time my epidural had worn off and I was hurting and couldn`t do it anymore. They thought about using the vacuum but the doctor decided that it probably wasn`t going to work, so they ended up giving me a c-section. After Aiden was born they discovered that he had jaundice so he had to go under the lights for 24+ hours. That was the hardest thing in the world knowing that your son is crying and you can't do anything to comfort him. His poor goggles were too big and they kept covering his nose. I could barely sleep because I was paranoid that he would stop breathing. We spent 6 grueling days in the hospital before they finally let us leave. It`s unfortunate that it had to come to that but at least we`re both healthy now and he`s soooooo precious!! I love him so much.
