My little girl is the most amazing thing in the world. I had wanted her out so badly for about 2 or 3 weeks. Trying almost anything. Finally i woke on saturday thinking, ok fine...you can come when you want. So i took a shower, did some stretches, got dressed and went shopping with my mother in law and oldest son. We went out to eat and i had a contraction that kinda stopped me dead in my tracks...i shook it off and said whatever. Figured it was just another fake one and didn`t wanna get my hopes up. Took my mother in law home and dropped her off, and proceeded on my way home with my son. On the way home, i had another slightly stronger contraction but again thought, nope, not even gonna think about it. Then the snow came. Yes.. a snow storm. so i got home and IM`d my mom and just told her i was having contractions but i wasn`t gonna time them....she thought maybe that was a good idea instead of getting all worked up. So i started watching Pirates 3 with my kids and hubby and watched the snow start to accumulate. Well about 6 pm i noticed that they were pretty regular and i was needing to take a breath to get through them....so i started timeing. 9-10 minutes apart!! But im still not getting my self worked up....after about 2 hours...the were more like 8-9 minutes and getting stronger...couldn`t walk through them. about 9 oclock i said, alright lets call the midwife and get going. My husband hangs up with WHOEVER he was on the phone with and says...i have to go on a service call!! (hes a heating and cooling technician.) GREAT!!! i said ok, i can do this...they aren`t that close and i can probably get things ready in that time. So i packed my boys bags and called gma to come get them...packed the rest of our bags....and by the time my mother in law got there..i was like, yep this is it.. So my hubby gets back 1 HOUR LATER, and my contractions are now 6 min apart. Well we are 45 min away from hospital, IN NORMAL CONDITIONS. So we throw everything in the 4 wheel drive truck and take off. I had forgotten how BUMPY the ride in his truck is. by the time we get to the city of the hospital we are at every 4. Get upstairs and check in and im 5cm and fully effaced...YEY. still thinkin i can do this without drugs, i walk. Well about an hour of that i was done....YEs i caved and went straight for the epidural. I figured if i was gonna give up on natural i might as well go all the way. My best friends Rachael and Heather arrived and were GREAT support. After i was comfortable with my epidural we all sat around and BS`d and laughed and talked and it was amazing. About 4 am we calmed down and all cuddled in for a rest. I was awoke at 4:45 and got checked, FULLY!! YEY. Time to push. Everyone gets up and gets pumped. I did about 3 test pushes and she told me to stop, they were gonna get ready. WOW, i didn`t know it could happen this quickly, my other kids i pushed for 3 hours. My birth plan was that my husband would assist with the birth as long as things were good. WHICH THEY WERE. my husband was down there helping guide my daughters head out on my 5th push, and TADA, at 5:10 am my daughter was placed on my stomach by my husband! It was soo amazing. I couldn`t have pictured a better delivery to end my run as a baby factory. Yes i had i tubal afterwards. Im so happy with my family and my baby girl fits right in to that empty spot we all had in our hearts. My two sons think shes amazing and love to help and hold her. They sing and each have thier own nicknames that they have given her. My husband is now a changed man, realizing what a special job he has being the father of girl. And all the men in the house are completely mezmerized by her and she has them wrapped around her little finger already. But im so happy and things are AMAZING!!!
