Birth Story

Well, it all went quite quick really! After going 8 days over due and only experiencing period like pains for the past week, I suddenly started getting contractions at 8pm on Monday 28th April and they were every 10mins. After an hour & half they were every 3 mins so I phoned the hospital. They made me wait an hour, so we left for the hospital at 10 and got ther for quarter past. When we arrived they checked how dilated I was n i was 6cm!! I was given a shot of Diamorphine which was great but made me see scary things lol!! We then went to the labour suite and I was given a lovely room with dim lighting & all sorts of birthing balls, pool, and ther was a shower, loo etc. I stood up through every contraction and tried to walk around as much as possible. At around 12 I was given the gas & air aswel as I really was in pain!! The midwife checked me again at 2am and I was now 9cm dilated & felt like I wanted to push. I got on the bed and started to push when told to! I had to be cut but I didnt feel anything at the time because she gave me an anaestetic. 20mins later my gorgeous baby girl was born!
I had to have a lot of stitches & it took the midwife over an hour to stitch me up. During this time I held my baby girl and gave her her first feed, so I didnt mind.
Its now been 5 days and I am very sore 'down there' but it was well worth the pain!!
