Ashley`s birthstory

I was told on Tuesday the 16th at my 37 week appointment that she had low amniotic fluid and might have to be induced for safety reasons for her. My dr. told me to come back on Thursday to see if her levels went down any further. When I went in, they had gone down, so he called the hospital and told them I`d be there in 2 hours! That was surprising.
We got everything ready and headed to the hospital. We got there around 5:30. I was not dilated at all, so they had to give me something to get contractions going and to get me dilated. By around 1:00 the contractions were getting painful and I was sooo uncomfortable and wanted to sleep, so I asked for an epidural. Ahhhh. - My friend. - Took the pain away and I was able to sleep well.
At 6:30 in the morning when the nurse came in to help me turn to my other side to even out the epidural, she announced, `your water broke!`. That made me happy because originally my dr. wouldn`t be in till later in the morning to break my water. He even said that it could be 1-2 days before I went into actual labor. I didn`t tell him that in my family once the water breaks, the baby is coming. When she checked me I was at a one. The next time I was a 4. At around 8:30, I felt tons of pressure and knew she`d be here soon. I hinted to the nurse, but she didn`t think anything because last time she checked I was only a 4. Luckily she said she`d check again at 9:00.
The contractions got worse and worse and I was so grateful when the nurse finally checked and kind of surprised, she announced that I was at a 10 and ready. So she contacted the dr. who was unfortunately doing surgery. He probably didn`t expect me to be having the baby till much later.
The dr. came in and after about 15 minutes of pushing, out she came. Full head of beautiful dark hair. :) That made me happy. What a wonderful and amazing experience. She is so beautiful and has brought more joy than I could have comprehended.
