Was induced at 38 wks because of high blood pressure. I didn't get pre-eclampsia, just pregnancy induced hypertension, practically the same thing in my opinion.
Went to the hospital at 500am to start the medicine, which I didn't get until 800am because they had 3 back to back emergency c-sections so they stopped all meds on the floor until they were taken care of. After that they broke my water and started the Pitocin. I needed the epidural by 1000am because my pressure was up and it was painful!
The epidural started to wear off at about 300 and my pressure started back up so they limited my visitors for the rest of the day. They gave me 3 shots of something in my iv for the pain but that didn't help so they re-did the epidural at about 700pm which was right before they wanted me to start pushing, because that is so easy without feeling anything!
After pushing for 2 hrs, a 4th degree episiotomy and the use of forceps twice Madison was born, poor thing had a bruise on her ear because of the forceps but other than that she was a healthy baby!
