I was scheduled to be induced on June 25 at 7 am. I arrived and was there for awhile before they started oxytocin..I believe that's what it was called. I was 2.5- 3 cm when I got there. And I'd been having contractions that were really painful for a couple days. I was fine for awhile...But then the contractions were 7 mins apart and then very quickly about 2 mins apart. I told the nurse my butt hurt and she checked me and I was all ready to push. She called the dr and got everything ready and then told me to push to ten. I started to push and she counted to five and told me stop because the baby's head was right there and the dr hadn't showed up yet. I sat there for about ten mins fighting the urge to push waiting for my dr to show. I guess no one thought I would be having this baby after only a couple hours of labor. So I pushed for not too long.. I'm not sure how long because they had given me stadol and I was out of it and tired (which I hated by the way). I had also gotten the epidural which was VERY hard to sit through while contractions were coming. But it only took partially to my right side so I could still feel contractions and pain on it. My mom was in the room with me and was crying the whole time I was pushing and I was crying because I was so out of it and in pain..my mom cut the cord which she wasn't expecting to do so she thought that was really cool too. I got an episiotomy which I am still healing from but it's much better now. The whole time in the hospital though I was in A LOT of pain from in and could not sit still, I was constantly re arranging myself to try and be comfortable. I haven't forgotten the pain and definitely do not want to go through it again for a long time...but when the time is right I DO want to have more! She's wonderful.
