Giana Roses' Birth Story

So i went to the my doctors appointment on Friday. She said i was 3cm and still 75% effaced. She asked if i wanted my membranes stripped and i said yes. I had been cramping all day but after she did the procedure it started to get more intense. i Then prodeeced to go to Bunko with my mom where i won $30 dollars but at the end of the games i just had to start timing the contractions. An hour later we were in the triage portion of the Maternity ward at Umass. I was so uncomfortable but they insisted on keeping me there forever!! FINALLY i go admitted and they gave me a shot of Nubane which helped me get through the pain. I took a hot shower and felt a lot better. However, the nubane started to ware off and then the contractiosn got UNBEARABLE. So the resident doctor came down checked me and said i was 7cm and i could get an epidural if i wanted so i said YES. However, after the epidural was placed and working she came back down only to tell me she MADE A MISTAKE AND I WAS ONLY 4-5 cm!!! OMG i could have kicked her in the face (i couldn't feel my legs though) Soafter that the contractions pretty much stopped and all i could feel was pressure. So they gave me some pitocin but i was only on the drip for 1 hour and i knew i was in transition. it was so painful that i started crying. then the doctor came down checked me and said i was 10 cm and 100% effaced and it was time to push!!! I pushed for no more then 10 minutes and Giana Rose was born at 11:18 am the day before mothers day<3 She is so beautiful.
