Addison-`s birthstory

I went for a sweep on tuesday the 15th. Sara (midwife) said baby was low and there was a bubble of water in the way but she seemed ready.

Came home and starting making dinner. Around 6pm i started having contractions. They were like a period cramp but not bad at all and about 20 min apart lasting maybe 20seconds. They did not have a pattern to them so i assumed it was just some more bI hicks. My hubby started to drive me insane asking when i had one last so i went to bed early. I woke up at about midnight to pee and had one or two. They still were not too bad so i went back to bed and slept till 230. I got up and peed and tried to go to sleep again but they were alot stronger. I didnt want to wake up hubby so i started pacing the house. At about 3 i woke him up and told him i was having contractions and was going to take a bath to see if it helped the pain.

I hoped in the tub and started to time them. They were coming about every 5 min last 30 seconds. I woke up hubby and told him to time me cause i was not sure. He tried and they were what i thought. I got out of the tub and the pain got worse.

I called my midwife who told me that i could sit at where i was for a long time. That i should relax and call the moment they changed. I paced the house through a few more contractoins and decided to get back in the tub. At this point it was about 4am. The contractions were becoming unbareable ad way closer.

I called the midwife again. She told me that she would meet me at the hosipital right away.

I got out of the tub and the contractions were right on top of eachother. I tried getting dressed while my husband got ready( shaving and putting cologne on... i wanted to kill him) All of a sudden i felt like i needed to go to the bathroom so i trieed and nothing. The contrations were so bad that i was kneeling on the floor in the bathroom and again i felt like i was going to go the bathroom and i really didnt care if it was on the floor...eww i know.

It passed so i got up and tried to put pants on. I was leaning on my bed when i felt the urge to push. I told my hubby who paled and said No hurry up. It passed again so i told him i was okay i just needed to pee before we left. I went to the washroom and that is when everything changed.

The urge to push was so strong there was nothing i could do. I called for my hubby and i was pretty much in my own world. I pushed once and the baby started to crown. My husband who was not aware that i was pushing looked down and saw the head and FREAKED. At that exact moment my mom arrived knocking on the door. My husband ran downstairs and ran up. By the time he was back the head was completely out and two seconds later she was born.

If the birth of her was not stressful enough it got worse the second she arrived. She came out screaming... thankfully. My husband was pretty much having a break down and screaming at my mom to call 911. And then my mother inlaw arrived. We talked with 911 who told us what to do. Called my midwife who had just arrived at the hospital and informed her whart happened. She freaked and told us she would be there ASAP.(160km/h down the highwayb later) EMS finaly arrived
