Sophia-Annabelle`s birthstory
Hello All,
My beautiful baby girl has arrived!! I am very excited. Due to the extreme back pains (I have severe scoliosis in my lower back and the the baby was low but very posterior, so it was terrible!!) and labor pains I had been experiencing for weeks, the doc decided to give me some Cervidil to get things started as I did not want anything that could lead to c-section, per my previous posts about inductions.. like if they break your water, you have to deliver within 24 hours or you will have c-section.
Anywho, I was waiting for the baby to come on her own but my body just wouldn`t progress into true labor despite all the contractions, I had been having.
Cervidil was placed at 11:30 pm on Monday night. i was having my regular false labor contractions until about 5 am and then all of the sudden, I started having severe contractions 1 to 2 minutes apart. They did not stop until I delivered!
It took until about 7:30 am to progress to between 3 -4 centimeters, then, I began to progress very quickly. At about 9:15, I had dilated to a 7 and the doctor broke my water so I could have the epidural. At about 10 am, they checked me and all they could feel was the baby`s head!
I pushed through about 2 contractions and the baby was born. The total pushing time was less than 10 minutes. I did begin to tear so I had to have an episiotomy. The stitches ain was really pretty bad until this morning. So, for those of you to deliver, just know it will hurt later, but the pain is temporary and much better than letting yourself tear. I was on the fence about this issue and having it done, am happy that I did.
The baby is doing quite well, she hasn`t adated to sleeping in her cradle and so she sleeps in a cosleeper with my husband and I for now until we can wean her away! I am breastfeeding, which has certainly had its challenges, but like everyone says - Breast is Best, so I am doing it for the baby!!
The baby is absolutely gorgeous and I will be posting pictures soon!!
