Kylee-Marie`s birthstory

We went in at 7 am prepared for our baby to still be breech and for a c-section.  When they did the u/s surprise she had turned back down.  So they hurried and put us into a room and started the pit drip at a little before 9 AM.  I was already 4 -5 cm dialated when we arrived and was having good contractions.  They broke my water later morning and then I decided it was time for an epidural.  After they gave me the epidural I kept feeling the contractions on a circular patch on the right side of my stomach.  They readjusted and said sometimes you can get a `hot spot` if the tube is in to far, because it will miss a nerve. Anyways with that fixed they checked me again and i was at 8 cm. Then in what seemed min I was at 10 cm and ready to push. They told me she was `sunnyside up` or face up which makes it harder to push her out. They tried to turn her down but she kept wiggling right back up. And her heart rate was dropping so the doc finally gave up and said she`s going to do what she wants. I started pushing at about 2:30PM and she arrived at 3:22PM. She is moderately jaundice and we have to go tom for them to test her.

We are home, hurrah, and doing well. She is quite content as long as she is being held and she loves to eat. (My poor nipples!) But breastfeeding is going great. I gotta run got a hungry baby to feed!

Lawson-Cole`s birthstory

Went in Friday for an induction when we arrived I was dialated to 4cm. They started me on pitocin at 8:30 - 9AM. Our doctor was supposed to come at noon and break my water but didn`t show up until 3:30 that afternoon. So we basically sat around and waited. I went ahead and got an epidural incase they were going to be slow about bringing it. But the man came quickly. It took a long time to get it in my back as he had trouble getting it in right. Worst epidural I`ve ever gotten! When the doctor arrived at 3:25 she checked me and I was dialated to 6cm, she broke my water at 3:33 and by 4 PM I was feeling contractions really badly even though I`d had the epidural. The nurse checked me again and said I had already dialated to 10 cm and was ready to push. I had dialated so quickly that the epidural couldn`t keep up. I pushed 6 times and the baby was getting caught because he was `sunny side up` and his heart rate was dropping so the doctor cut me and after pushing two more times out came Lawson. The nurses put him naked on my naked chest and let us hang out and I got to nurse him. Then they weighed him, he was 8lbs 12.4ozs and 21oz long. He has a head full of dark hair and is doing wonderfully.
