Kolby-Gene`s birthstory

Well, monday morning I got awoke at 3:46 am with a contraction, hadn`t had one of those in a while, so it did startle me. Needless to say, they kept coming every 6 minutes for the next 8 hours, until I finally got them to 3 minutes apart, I called in to see what the doctor wanted me to do. He said to come into the hospital, by the time we got there at 3:00 pm, the contractions were 1-2 mintues apart. I was in pain, the nurse we got was wonderful and helped Derek and I worked through the contractions. I finally got some pain meds (iv), by around 7, I was already to a 7 and got my epidural, needless to say I tried to relax and take a nap. When I woke up a little after 8, they said that I was an 8, before we knew it I was a 9.5, they said, they would be back in 30 mins to check me, by the time they got back, Kolby was right there, so we started pushing. I pushed 5 sets of three and he was here. Perfect in every way. A head full of brown hair, 10 perfect toes and fingers, he is a little bigger then our daughter was, but shorter, only by a 1/4 inch. We left the hospital on Wednesday late afternoon, we are at home adjusting to a new baby. Forgot how much work they are, but he is worth every mintue of it!!
