Rohan`s birthstory

waters broke at 11.30pm and went to hospital at 3am and was 4cm dialated. used tens machine and had a bath prior to that. the contractions had already started and were getting painful so started to use gas and air. i was then in the delivery room and the contractions were getting very strong and i was about 7cm then 8 then 9. all off a sudden i went back down to 6cm and the contractions slowed down completely. they had to give me the hormone (oxytocin) drip to get me going again at this point i`d already been in labour for so long that i was tired and kept drifting off and being woken up by my contractions therefore was no longer taking the gas and air in the correct manner and decided on an epidural. they had got the surgery ready to give me a c-section and had got the forceps and venthouse ready if i needed them. thankfully though i pushed through and had a normal delivery without any of that being required. i have had a second degree tear which is quite painful as there are alot of stiches but i have my bundle of joy and he is wonderful.
My husband was excellent through out. he did take wonderful care of me. even now at home he has been looking after me as well as helping with Rohan
