Ava-Victoria`s birthstory

My induction date was set for Sept. 22nd. We got to the hospital at 5:00AM and found that I had already dilated to a 2.5. The doctor broke my water at 5:30 and by 6:00 the nurse started the pitocin. I got my epidural around 7:00. Unfortunately, the epidural only took on my right side. After getting 3 boosts of medicine in my epidural, my left side was still not numb. The doctor had to remove the original epidural and insert a new one. By this time I was dilated to 8 centimeters. Thank goodness the new epidural worked almost immediately. I started to feel a lot of pressure and by 10:00 the nurse called my doctor and started preparing for delivery. I pushed for a total of 6-8 pushes over the course of 10 minutes and my baby girl was born. Aside from the epidural issue, this was a very easy and pleasant delivery. Ava is a beautiful baby!
