Abdoulaye-Malick-Mbye`s birthstory
Went in for induction on November 4th at 9:00am. Had tablets inserted every so often to soften my cervix as NOTHING had been happening. This went on all day Tuesday with not much change into Wednesday. Eventually early Wednesday morning I had an epidural. Unfortunately it was not inserted properly, and I had incredible pain most of the night Tuesday and Wednesday. They redid the epidural on Wednesday, only to have that one screw up as well, so I was six centimeters dilated by 5:00pm Wednesday with next to NO PAIN MED. It was the most horrible experience ever. One of those that makes you say `I WILL NEVER DO THIS AGAIN!`. Anyways, so doc broke my water at this point. I sat as the pain progressed. Eventually the doc came in and said we could try another epidural but if it didn`t work, that was it, OR, I could have a c-section. I opted PROMPTLY for the section and good thing, because the baby was huge and never would have fit out of me without complications. I ended up with a fever of 103 right before the c-section which had me on IV antibiotics for the past 4 days. I finally got to come home tonight, but my little peanut has to stay there for another week most likely because somewhere in the birthing process he contracted e-coli into his bloodstream. Docs say he will be okay, but I am so worried. He has to be on IV antibiotics. He seems healthy overall. He`s such a good baby. I started with breastfeeding, but decided today it is too much for me and he isn`t getting enough of what he needs so I switched to formula. I wish I would have just had a scheduled c-section that could have avoided all of the unnecessary pain. Labor really sucked overall, but the outcome was a beautiful baby boy that we love so much.
