Kristina-Noel`s birthstory

I started having contractions 3-4 min. apart at noon on Monday. After timing them for an hour we decided to go to the hospital. When we got there I was 4cm dilated, which didnt change from the week before, but was having steady contractions, so them admitted me. Around 4:30, they broke my water and asked if I wanted an epidural. After going natural with my first born, I wanted the epi!! Well, the anesthesiologist was held up in the OR and wasnt able to get there then so they gave me a pain med called stadol. I wasnt able to feel the contractions after that. A half hour later the anesth. came in. to start the epi...he asked if I could feel the contractions and I said no so he left thinking it worked. Well, the stadol wore off and the contractions and pressure was horrible. Turns out the epi wasnt in right and off course they couldnt get ahold of the anesth. again. The nurse checked me around 630 and I was at a 7. She checked again at 7pm and again I was at a 7 so they started talking about pitocin. Well as soon as everyone left the room I started feeling tremendous pressure and the urge to push. The nurse ran in and checked me, and the baby was already crowning. She was born at 7:09pm...7lbs14oz and 20.5in long. Because she dropped so fast, her face was so bruised it looked like she had a 5 o`clock shadow. Other than that she is completely healthy. All the pain was worth it in the end!! :)
