this is a long one. i walked at walmart for about 2hrs on wed night. i got up thurs morning with some mild back ache. i went to work and as the day went the ache got worse. in the evening i took a bath to help relax my back. after bath i noticed that i had some blood when i wiped. did not have contractions yet just an achy back. before i went to bed i started with some contractions. i tried to go to sleep as they were mild and nothing crazy. i fell in and out of sleep for a little but not much. the excitement and the contraction were keeping me awake. finally they were getting closer and stronger. so we called the dr and he said to head in. so after half hr to hr we made it in. i don't remember how dialated i was. 3-4 probably. the dr said i was in the start of labor and that he was leaving but the next dr will probably break my water to get things going. so i thought great i am having my baby. next dr comes in and said my contractions have stopped and that he is sending me home. i was sad. and go figure as soon as i left the hospital my contractions started. in was like 8am so i went home and hubby went to work as he just started his job last week and did not want to miss work until baby came. so i took a bath and ate. then i laid down for a nap. it was quick again as excitement and contractions made it hard to sleep. hubby came home around 330. he laid in bed with me timing contractions and just resting. at about 4pm my water partly broke. i went to the bathroom and it was like i was having a continuous pee. called the drs office and they said to come in. well that was just not right. i had to have a towel between my legs as liquid just kept coming. and they make me come in to the office where i have to sit in the waiting room then change into a gown for him to look at me for 5sec and say go to the hospital. so i got there about 5pm. that dr came in and completely broke my water at 5:30. my contractions were not bad up to this point. once my water broke it did not take long for the pain to come. it was in my back like someone turned a tens unit up all the way. i had a shot of something that was to take the edge off. it did nothing but make me sleep inbetween contractions. after an hr or so i asked for another shot. hoping it would help. after a few mins to half hr i asked for an epi and got out of bed to sit in rocking chair. the nurse went to badge the epi guy and when she came back i decided i wanted baby out and i wanted to push. i did not have the pressure feeling just wanted baby out. thankfully my body was telling me right somehow as i was 10cm. so i started pushing around 9pm. i was so afraid of having a bowel movement that i was not pushing well finally after half hr i again said i want baby out even if i have a bm. thankfully i did not but once i stopped worring and started pushing she was out in about 15mins. she was born at 9:44pm on 3-16-01. she was 7lbs 3oz and 20in. i don't think that was bad for my first and learned that i do not ever want that shot that is to take the edge off as it did nothing but make me sleeping. she is my angel child. a very well behaved girl. i am so happy i was able to have her wtithout the epi. it really does make you feel good and strong.

this was my easiest labor! i wish all my labors were this easy. so i went to dr on tues which was my due date. i was like 1-2cm. they did a nst to make sure all was good, which it was. so dr said to call the main office the next day to schedule a day to be induced the next week. so the next day i woke up went to work which was a teachers aide and we had a 1/2 day of school. so i left around 12-12:30. got home and had lunch with my oldest daughter and called the main office. the nurse on the phone did not know what i was talking about and said she would call me back after she talked to the dr. so i went and took a nap with my dd. i woke up about 5-5:30 with a cramping belly and back and lots of pressure. this was normal when i would wake up. after i would go empty my bladder i would start to feel better. so i emptied my bladder and started to feel better. all except the pressure. i felt like i had to have a bm. so i went and felt better only for a bit. i have ibs so it is not unusual for me to have to go to the bathroom several times and to have bad cramps with it. so i was thinking it was just my ibs. after a bit i called the dr as the hosptial was an hr away and did not want to go all the way there to have them tell me i just have to go to the bathroom. the dr said he was not sure and to try an enima. so i went to the store to get one. still having cramps but i was able to walk and talk pretty much like normal. when i got home i warmed supper up for my dd and tried the enima. it did not help. thankfully hubby was on his way home as he has an hr drive. so i decide to try and go to the bathroom one more time before my hubby gets home and we go to the hospital. well as i tried to push and nothing crazy i felt a pop. and an enormas amout of pressure. i felt about 1/2-1in in my vagina and there was baby's head. i am ready to start panicing as no one is with me but my dd. i call hubby who i almost home then he calls my mil who thankfully was in the area. i did not feel as though i could make it the hr drive and we have a nice hospital 5mins from my house.(they did not acept my ins) hubby tells me we have to make it. nice right! so i we went and got there in 45mins and it just felt like baby was going to fall out. so we went through the er entrance and i stupidly did not take the wheel chair so i was sitting on the floor in the elevator. the nursed did not know i felt the head just that i was in labor. so they gave me a gown and told me to get dressed. i had to sit on the side of the tub as i felt like she was going to fall out. finally i get out and on the bed and they go to check me and were in shock as her head is there. so they call the dr and i ask for the bathroom they tell me i just need to push i said no i have to pee so i try to go and as soon as i sat on the toilet it felt like she was going to fall out so i sat on the floor. they came in and helped me to the bed the dr was there by this time and said let her push. so i pushed and my water broke(very yuck as it went everywhere), i pushed again and her head was out, i pushed again and she was out. it took like 30sec-1min to push her out and it was such relief. i did not have the push/pressure and relief feeling with my first. i had cramping but nothing i could not talk through. it was so easy. and since i was not so exhausted from the pain and long labor i felt great afterward. she was a day late born on feb 25,2004 at 9:59pm and was 8lb and 19in.

It was mon march 26th, it was the first day that i felt good after being sick with a stomach bug the wed before. i had some light spotting and a few contractions but a nurse said it was most likely me be dehydrated from being sick so to drink more. so i went to tour the hospital as i had not done so yet as i switched half way through. they were joking that i better not go in labor on the tour as i was 39wks. so all was fine with the tour and i went home and went to bed like normal. so around 2:30-3am i woke with what i was thinking were contractions. i went to the bathroom and no bloodyshow. i went to lay down again and they were still there so i was trying to somewhat time them with my clock. my hubby then wakes up and asks if i am ok. he expecting me to say yes turned over and was going back to bed. when he heard me say i am not sure he popped up. lol. so he started to help me and we decided since they were still coming that it probably was the start of labor. well my last was so easy, pain free and quick we did not want to wait till the last min with this one. so we called the nurse and she said to head on in. we called my mil and i just was not ready to leave. the contractions were not super painful so i wanted to sit in the rocking chair so i would not be at the hospital to early. so we stayed about another hour and then left. we got to the hospital around 5:30am they checked me and i was 4cm and 80%. so they said they were keeping me. i tried to walk around a little but did not want to leave the room as i kept having to go to the bathroom so at 7:30 i was about 6cm and they broke my water. well about half hour later the contractions got super strong and hard. i was in pain land. then his heartrate went down to 50 and they gave me o2. they said it was because he was coming down the canal so fast. well i don't remember the time i started to push but it was only about 2-3mins but when the uncontrollable urge came it came strong and i was just pushing. no one was in the room and my hubby was running out in the hall to get someone as they thought it would be another hour or two till i delivered at i was 7cm a few mins before. as they come in they said no we can't see a head oh wait yes we do so they were rushing to get it all set up. i don't know what they are thinking telling a preg woman without an epi and the urge to push not to push. there is no not pushing. so he was here and i did not get to hold him as it all happened so quick and they wanted him since they did not get to do anything doing the process. he was 7lb 14oz and 21in. i am so thankful that after they broke my water that he came quick as the pain then was strong. i would never be able to have that pain for many hours.
