Michael-Alan-OBrien`s birthstory

Labor really started on Sunday which was my little boy`s 4th birthday. Luckily we celebrated the day before. I had painless contractions really start to get regular around 3:00. They got closer and closer together and stayed regular. We didn`t need to go to the hospital until around 6:00am the next morning. I was already at 5-6 cm and 90%, -2 station. I was choosing no pain relief so I labored for a while and handled it well. But nothing much was happening. They broke my water to help but it didn`t do a whole lot- just put me at a 6, but still -2 station. They gave me a low dose of pitocin and things moved quickly after that. The contractions became stronger, more painful, longer, and more effective. I quickly moved to 8cm, 0 station. A few contractions later, I was at 10cm and +2 and ready to push. I had to try not to for a few minutes because the cervix was still there a little. I soon began pushing and it hurt quite a bit. I didn`t need to push through much more than five or six contractions and he was here! He cried right away. It took forever for the dr to sew my up and deliver the placenta, and take care of the baby. I couldn`t believe he was really here and it is all done. I`m still in shock. It happened so fast after all that waiting. I`m proud I was able to do it 100% naturally, but it was difficult.

Biggest achievement so far: -If you ask me, it is for being so darn cute and extremely smart! Ask him, and I`m not sure what he`d say. It changes everyday. But he`s pretty exctied about having a baby, buckling himself in the carseat, zipping his coat by himself and other three year old achievements.
