On January 1^st 2008 I started having contractions at 12:00 midnight, right before I went to bed. They weren’t too [painful] and I was able to fall asleep and try and get some rest. I woke up about 9-12 times within the time frame of 12:00 to 8:00. On January 2^nd, 2008 I had a doctors appointment at 10:30 in the morning. I live an hour away from the city so on my drive in I started timing my contractions. First they were at 10 minutes apart and by the time I got to the city they were five minutes apart. My appointment went great and I had finally dilated to a 1! Haha and I was 80% effaced. I asked my doctor to strip my membranes and she did.

We went for breakfast at Smitty’s and I started feeling the contractions getting [stronger]. Still being 5 mins apart though. Chris had to go back to work so I went back home. He told me to stay in just in case I went into labour because he would be closer. I didn’t listen. What was I going to do until 6 o’clock when Chris is finished work? I went home.

The day went by and I started feeling [nauseated]. I wanted to have a bath, but waited for Chris to get home in case I couldn’t get out or something. When Chris got home I had a bath and couldn’t stand it! The contractions started coming even worse and closer. I thought a bath was supposed to be refreshing and calm the contractions! Not for me! Haha I got out of the tub. At 7:30 Chris called the Hospital to ask them if we should come in and that we live an hour outside of town. They asked him a bunch of questions.. How far apart the contractions are, did I bath, have I lost my plug.. Etc.

We got to the [hospital] at 9:00. They hooked me up and timed my contractions, sure enough I was in labour, but still only one centimetre dilated! I thought it was going to be forever, and with my luck… they sent me home. They gave me a shot of Morphine and Gravol so I could sleep and not feel so nauseated. They kept us there for three hours and sent us home at 12:00.

We went to Chris’s Aunt’s house for the night. The shot did absolutely nothing! Both Chris and I got no sleep. I was in so much pain. At 2:00 I told chris I couldn’t do this anymore. The contractions started coming at 2 mins and were so painful! [I cried A LOT!] He asked me if I could wait a bit longer, because we really didn’t want to go back to the hospital and be sent back home all over again. I waited till 3:07am when I felt constipated. I went to the bathroom, and.. I had lost my mucus plug! I had no idea what was going to happen after that.

We headed back to the hospital, and they kept us.. I was dilated four centimetres and one hundred percent effaced. I was so happy. Now I could get my epi in no time! Lol Well I went through hell until 6:30 in the morning when I got the [epi]. I was in heaven! At 9:30 the doctor came in to break my water but I told him no, I don’t want it broken yet because I need to try and get some rest, and he looked at me as if I was on crack! Lol. He was supposed to come back with in two hours but never showed because it was so busy in the hospital. I never ever did end up getting any sleep rest either!

So my contractions were very strong but I couldn’t feel a thing, and at 2:00 I was dilated to a ten, but my waterbag was in the way.. Slowly I was leaking some fluids and within sixteen minutes of being checked, I was all ready to go..

Twelve minutes later my baby girl was born! We named her Taylor Bailee Turner. She weighed 6pounds 6ounces, and is 19.5 inches long. Taylor was born at 2:28pm. We are very blessed and love our daughter to bits and pieces! She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I feel so wonderful to bring new life.

I [held] my little girl for a matter of only two mins, for her to be cleaned, and then.. After Delivery I was rushed to emergency because my placenta had fallen in pieces and I wasn’t able to do the afterbirth. I was given a spinal and a whole bunch of other meds. I couldn’t feel anything! They cut me 2 inches to remove the placenta and I ripped very little. They stitched me up and put me on an IV for a day after birth and then pain meds also because of my episiotomy. Im feeling pretty good though!
