Patience-Landon`s birthstory

I was due on 8/16/08. I was suffering from SPD, TMJ, carpel tunnel syndrome, and edema. After discussing everything with my dr, we decided that I could be induced if an amnio came back with positive lung maturity. On 7/31, I went in for the amnio. It was being performed in the office. I was getting ready for the test to be performed and told the dr that laying flat on my back makes me short of breath. Well, once the test got underway, I passed out cold and had to be transfered to L&D to have the test done there and be monitored for 3 hrs. I went home afterwards and the dr called me to say that babys lungs were mature and to come in that night for the induction! I called my husband and he came home and off to the hospital we went! As we approached the tunnel we had to travel through to get to the hospital, The bridge we had to go over got stuck up and we were stuck on the freeway! Police had to turn the cars around and reroute traffic! It took 3 hrs to get to hospital! OMG!!!! The induction got underway at 1245am. They started me on pitocin. I was on pitocin from 1245am to 9am with no change but steady hard contractions! I told dr Im getting out of the bed and they got me a birthing ball to sit on! At 11am the dr came to check me. I was 3cm,70%, and -2....The dr broke my water. I was then given my first epidural. At 1230pm, dr checked me and I was 7cm,90%,and 0...I told the dr that i would go soon. At 100pm, I told dr I wasnt feeling right and they checked me and I was 10cm, 100%, and he was ready....Wow, it went really fast. They had to get the attending dr and set up for the delivery. I started to push at 130pm and my son was born after 2 pushes and 4 minutes...He was born at 134pm weighing 6lbs 10 oz and was 20 inches long!! I had no tearing or anything and he is perfect! Welcome to the world Mr. Patience Landon Stewart!! MY LITTLE MAN!!!
